Let's get out and vote for Carl Paladino for Governor.

If you can remember Andrew Cuomo's father Mario, you know the last thing we need as Governor of New York is another Cuomo.

Carl Paladino on the Right to Keep and Bear Arms
"I support an individual's right to bear arms as recognized by the Second Amendment and I believe it is now time to enshrine this vision of our Founding Fathers in the New York State Constitution. It is disgraceful that New York is one of the few states that leaves state gun owners' rights up to the whim of state legislators."

"And not only will I defend against further assaults by Sheldon Silver and the gang against existing gun owner rights, but I will look for opportunities to roll back any existing state law that infringes upon the right to bear arms."

Wonder how come no one says wittle andy is following in HIS daddy's footsteps?

The Son of Sfacheem, as Bob Grant would say.

Hold onto your pocketbook and your guns if this fool becomes Governor.

Sounds good to me. Let's hope that it is more than simple campaign noise.

It probably isn't, Ray, but unfortunately it's a whole different ballgame in the Empire State. I'll be pleasantly surprised if Paladino ends up winning, but it appears that Cuomo's lead is widening.

I'd still be living in rural NY if it wasn't for the handgun laws.

Amen, although it's hard to imagine things changing much. I lived in upstate NY for 27 years and the gun-control mindset is deeply ingrained there. Even my uncle, who has no problem with gun ownership, describes his pistol permit-holding coworkers as "crazy."

A few years back I was in a well-known gun shop in St. Petersburg and noticed a middle-aged couple from Rochester eyeing a glass case full of handguns. When advised of the relatively simple criteria for purchasing a handgun in FL, the wife said "that's scary." I couldn't help responding "no ma'am, that's freedom."

Will they ever learn up there?

we need to get carl in there!!!!!!

i know that i'm planing on moving from NY just becouse of the
gun laws. i can move 15min south to PA and not have any of the
BS.

this is a great place to live (upstate) and spring is great fall is
even better, i have all the land i want to hunt and all the lakes
i want to fish but the down state DEMS think they know whats
good for us.

please NY get out and vote for carl, we need his kind of change...

I have no fondness for Cuomo, his father was an idiot.

I'm BEYOND sick of family dynasties. Kennedy's, Clintons, Bush's, Cuomos, all of them, no one appointed you to be kings of us "peons." I don't understand people who seemingly automatically vote for these families despite any evidence that they give a flip about us or even more importantly that they are competent. Don

Andy Cuomo's past record in the Clinton Administration where he championed the AWB into law is troubleing enough.
But we have Eric Schneiderman in front in the run for the NY Attorney Gen'rls Office.
Another Manhatten Democrate and anti 2A politician. He's stated that MicroStamping for handguns is a must-have for NY (on top of Ballistic fingerprinting which we already have and has proven an absolute failure).
He has blasted the southern US States as the reason for NY gun crime ,,somehow you just walk into a gunshop as a NY'er and buy a gun w/o any paperwork and bring it back here,,,and promised to close down the 'bad dealers' sending gun crime to NY.
He's a friend of the Bloomberg antigun push.

...and make no mistake about it,,,,Andrew Cuomo wants to be your President someday.
But I think he'll have to wait at least one turn while Hillary tries to grab for the ring again.

It always staggers me when politicians can push legislation that has absolutely no credibility whatsoever and can say it with enthusiasm and seeming sincerity. Microstamping is absolutely absurd. Think of a Glock and how easy it is to remove the firing pin. A couple swipes with grey sandpaper and the stamping is history. Idiots like that never let truth or science interfere with controlling the people. Don

Don, I'd like to make two points regarding your comment:
1. They have no interest in the truth
2. See point #1

I am not a resident of NY and do not even like having to go there but I am watching the race for Governor there carefully. As near as I can tell, the Republican is beating himself with his words and actions. I like his platform and I like what he says when he is saying it in correct fashion but he fails to say much correctly.

It is not what a person says as much as it is the way the person says it. I hope the man wins but I think he needs to pay more attention to detail.

I recently had dinner with some friends in upstate NY where we live and the dinner conversation broached the subject of the election. All of the guests are very pro gun, all pistol permit holders, cops, lawyers, hunters and sportsmen/women. Several opinions expressed concern about Mr. Paladino's image but, Cuomo who has been groomed by his family dynasty probably from day one, is a media pandering expert. Politics suck in general, but in NY in particular, it stoops to a despicably low level. Paladino does harm his chances with his angry rhetoric and sometimes less than charming personality. However, we don't want or need another Cuomo in the Governor's office, but downstate (NYC) voters and the fragmentary ex-NYC and Long Island urban flight liberals who retreated to upstate NY during the 70's, 80's, and later, will put Cuomo in office. If you imagine otherwise, you don't understand NY politics.

How in the world was Hillary, a lifelong resident of Arkansas, able to convince anyone she was a New Yorker in order to lawfully qualify to occupy Moynihans office? Like it or hate it, political wannabes realize that winning an election in a prestige race in NY can be the springboard to achieve greater political success. Vote for Carl Paladino....but a few prayers for the rest of us might be helpful too.

I'm not concerned about Palladino's image or feisty attitude either, he's the real deal, and getting my vote next Tuesday. How any self-respecting sportsman or gunowner who can even think about Cuomo is disturbing. I know folks at the range I frequent who'll probably vote for Cuomo. Another reason NY is in the shape it's in. Idiot gun owners.

As an upstate NY resident, the thing that sinks NY year after year in every issue, is New York City and everything from Westchester county south. Recently a study was done dividing up the state and if it wasn't for that this state would be Republican all the way.

Pennsyvania has very good gun laws. It's hard to believe that we border New York and New Jersey. Move across the border and you'll never look back. That's what I did.

That reminds me of IL. I originally planned to retire in S. IL, but Chicago area now has 55% of voters in the state and treats the rural south IL as conquered territory.
