Hi all from St. Louis

Hello and welcome from soggy NW Florida!

Never had one of them pony-pieces, but it aint for lack of trying! I am sure you will find S&W to be a fine revolver, and they turn the right way too!! :D :D :D

Both brands make (or made in the case of Colt) great double action revolvers. My Python trigger stacks whereas my 686 and 28-2 triggers do not. Just gotta get used to the different feel of each revolver.

BTW, Welcome aboard from WI! This is the best place to learn about and share all things Smith & Wesson! :)

I'm a hunter and an avid sportsman, and although I would say I'm not a "gun collector" it's getting pretty hard to deny the reality of it now. I won't buy a LNIB pistol that I don't already have in worn shooter grade, but I have been buying them as "replacement" guns for a couple of years.

I'm not a S&W guy. I inherited and collect the other brand with the ponies on them and frequent the other forum (where they say lots of nice things about S&W and about you guys).

I recently stood for 15 minutes with a gunsmith, whom I like, who did nothing but run down and malign the very expensive, and exquisitely made (IMO) revolvers and automatics in my range bag, and he made all sorts of wild claims about how much smoother, simpler, and better S&W revolvers are. They may be. I don't know, but I want to find out, which is why I'm here.

Salute comrade, from central Obamastan, if you look North, you can see me waving, and most of us here on the forum likely own a pony or two, mine being a 2nd gen New Frontier, and a Super 38 Guvment, now my double action wheel guns are all Smith and Wesson, all the time. billy magg

In fact I rode down to your fair city today on my 01 GSXR 1000 to see a supposedly "rust free", 81 Turbo Trans-Am, our boy Rob in St. Charles apparently doesn't recognize ferrous oxide until the paint bubbles burst---- oh well, I had a nice ride, but I was achin by the time I rode into the garage
