In Feb., I bought a new 15-22 to celebrate my 59th birthday. Not my first 'black gun', but first AR type since the army issued me one decades ago.

What fun! What a kick in the ass fun gun! Bagged a squirrel and a bunny first time out (after familiarizing myself with the gun at the range and siting it in). No real issues yet. But thought I'd join to your forum to keep on top of things.

Only thing I have thought to accessorize the firearm with is a green laser, just for plinking fun. The factory sites seem fine to me, even though every other rifle I own, including slug guns, are scoped. Oh, the rabbit kill was the result of spray and pray.

Nice to meetcha. I will probably have questions.

After practicing with your first carton of .22LR, I doubt you will need to spray & pray anymore, since the S&W M&P 15-22 is a very accurate rifle with either 3 round rapid bursts or single shots.

Once you mount your laser, you will quickly master shooting from your hip, dropping Rocky & Thumper with one shot.

I also like the iron sights only added a carry handle to
mine thought it looked better.
they are alot of fun though

Welcome to the forum. I agree with you, the 15-22 is a totally fun gun! I'll be 72 next month and just bought the 15-22 about 6 months ago. Haven't done a thing to it. It gobbles up Federal bulk without a hiccup. My son, his wife, and my granddaughter are having a great time with it too. GD is 9 yrs old and loves to shoot.

Love the pic of the little princess shooting the 15-22. I can see she has the stock adjusted for her size. I like that feature on the tactical type firearms. The rifle fits when I wear a T-shirt to the range in July and then it fits as I lean against a tree (bundled up warm) in snowy January.

Here is a question right off for you, if'n you don't mind: Carry handle with site: I know any AR carry will fit, but is there a good one at the bottom end of the price range? I see some that look only fit for airsoft. How about UTG?

I've got the same question I also have read that AR15 accessories will fit but is there a carry handle that's specifically made for the 15-22? Or one that someone knows for sure is a straight "bolt on?"

I picked a NC star up at gun show for thrity bucks and it works fine the apeture is even a little smaller than the stock one which I liked. I saw one on an airsoft web page that was
all alum. for 15 dollars It would work just fine Im sure
