High Noon Holsters - Caution when buying!

Wow, that is too bad.

I ordered a belt, two double mag pouches and their Slide Guard holster for my Colt Combat Commander back in early 2010.

I called and a shnarky east coast type answered. I ordered and it took 6 weeks or two months. At least everything fit. The break in took a long time, including having to use a plastic bag which they recommended I think.

I called yesterday to order a Slide Guard for Sig 239 but got an answering machine.

I apologize for the late reply.

Just wanted to give a quick update. After the last email I received I decided just to hold onto the holster for the future. Whoever e-mailed me last was adamant that the replacement holster would fit the same way. I'm not going to pay shipping for another holster that I cannot place my firearm inside.

They saw the pictures and should have immediately sent a replacement, return label, and apology for sending me a unusable holster. Will shop elsewhere.

Also received my Lobo offset clip in horsehide for my Smith 642 recently, extremely happy so far. It serves it's easy on/easy off purpose and most importantly the gun FITS!

Probably the economically sensible decision, under the circumstances. High Noon just disappeared from the Holsters folder on the Favorites toolbar of my browser.

If you plan on keeping it, take out the retention screw completely and it might fit. I have one for my P2000 and I had to cut the inner threads to get it to seat. After that, it molded pretty well to it.

Do you keep the retention screw out while using the holster now?

I own one of their more expensive holsters for a 457. The gun fits properly in the holster. About 3 years ago I had some criticism of the holster on a thread, possibly on a different forum. I mentioned that I thought the holster was overpriced for the quality and that I could move the leather back and forth between my thumb and forefinger where it was stitched and it would creak when I did that. The owner of High Noon got into the thread and was obnoxious. Of course I never bought another High Noon holster.

I had a complaint about the sweat shield on a Highnoon holster, the owner was a jerk.
No problem..
I've spent several hundred (maybe thousand?) dollars on leather since then... none of it with Highnoon.
You're free to be a jerk, I'm free to spend my money elsewhere (and tell people about how big a jerk you were).

Ray also makes mistakes. Everyone everywhere will eventually make a mistake. How the mistake gets taken care of is where the quality of the company shows.
I finally received my holster from Ray last week. The gun snags when drawing the gun. Emailed him and he says it will work itself out after use. I can't use the holster because the gun won't come out. He said basically "oh well". He won't exchange, refund or fix. So basically threw $60 away.

That is normal!!! Any good fitting holster must be broken in. I have
4 or 5 Lobo's and they all were very tight when they came. Holster gun....draw gun...........holster gun.........draw gun....repeat for 40 to
50 times. Now all of my holster/gun combo work great!
Good luck!

That's terrible customer service and a terrible response to what is obviously the wrong holster. Can't say I'm surprised after an exchange with a High Noon employee on another forum. I'd be ashamed if one of my holsters fit the customer's gun so poorly.

No...because mine went in past the screw..it just wouldn't seat all the way at the front of the trigger guard...so I cut a few threads and it went all the way in. Not sure how important the screw is on an IWB that fits snug anyway...:)

Bare Asset for a Glock 30

WildBill44 and all-

While I sympathize with everyone in the forum, trust me when I say that all our holsters, as some have mentioned, are made, by hand, exactly the same way, and fitted before shipping. I have attached photos of mimicking WildBill44's situation, and another photo of the exact same holster and Glock 30 - as described per our fitment instructions - seated fully in the Bare Asset holster. The intent of the "friction fit" concept is to fit the weapon in the holster by use of the tension screw - to ensure the weapon remains in the holster. We are working with WildBill44 to help him correctly fit his Glock 30. We have also offered to ship his holster back and properly ensure correct fitment or ship a new Bare Asset Holster. I ask that WildBill44 contact me directly so that I can provide him with a sense of comfort when using our Bare Asset for his Glock 30. High Noon Holsters prides itself by offer the highest quality leather holsters, made by hand and in the good ol' USofA. We take pride in our products and promise to offer nothing but the best product line for all current and future customers. Please visit our website at www.highnoonholsters.com, and check out all of our high quality holsters. George, Chief Operations Officer, High Noon Holsters.

Thanks for the follow up response George. On page one there are pictures attached. I also did send an email but the rep who emailed be back told me to twist and push the firearm in the holster. This seems pretty dangerous with a loaded 45. As I was twisting and pushing the slide was completely being pulled back and I still can not get it past the retention screw. He also stated that if a new holster was sent it would be the same fit. I have a few other holsters from you that I do not need to force my other firearms in the holster. This includes another Bare Assest for my Smith 642 it fits in perfect and snug.

And I'm not sure if your response of giving me a sense of comfort was sarcastic or not. But there's no way I'm going to feel comfortable with this holster.

WildBill44,

There is no sarcasm in my response as we place all of our customers first.
Without loyal customers, High Noon Holsters would not be respected and known for its high quality holsters and customer service.

My recommendation is to return the holster and we will send you a new
holster with the guarantee the your Glock will fit perfectly. I am unsure
as to what the problem is with your current holster, and I will not know
until we can inspect the holster here at our shop.

However, before you return the holster, first, unload your Glock and follow
the instruction for break-in and fitment. Our representative was correct
when he stated that when holstering your Glock, you should slightly twist it
to help the trigger guard seat itself firmly with the aid of the retention
screw. That slight twist will help seat your Glock in the holster and then
you can adjust the tension screw. Also, the proper way to insert the gun in the holster is with your thumb on the back of the slide so it will not pop back. These holsters break in rather quickly so you will not have to repeat these processes a lot.

If you feel this is not satisfactory, or you feel your Glock is not seated
perfectly in the holster, please return the holster for a new replacement. Email us at Question@highnoonholsters. Simply ask for an RA number and we will give it to you.

I hope this helps,

George

High noon I appreciate your responses. I now have the glock inside the holster. The retention screw is currently removed. I'll let this sit for a few days and try adding the screw in the future. It is fitting extremely tight and probably won't even need the retention screw. Anyways.. I kindly do appreciate your responses and it may just be that I don't like this fit for this model firearm. As I've stated earlier I have the bare asset for the Smith 642 and it fits great I've even had to tighten the retention screw a bit. All in all you responded to this post and I appreciate it. Take care.
