Hints of new M&Ps pistols coming...

I am so glad that I came across this thread... In the market for a concealed carry and had narrowed it down to the following alternatives:

KelTec PF-9 - 7+1 rounds - $240.00
Ruger LC9 - 7+1 - $330.00
Kahr Arms CW9 - 7+1 rounds - $360.00

I was also looking at the Beretta PX4 Storm Sub-Compact - 13+1 rounds - $440.00 but the feedback was that it would "print" more due to its thickness/bulkiness.

This will be for concealed carry IWB...

All research done over the web, have not taken the time to go to the local gun shop to compare them. Wanted to do the initial research to narrow down the list.

No way I would have bought a BG380... to many failures reported to make me feel at ease buying one. Plus I want a 9mm...

Looking forward to the reports on this new gun from Smith & Wesson:

Anyone has an educated guess/estimate as to what price point the Shield 9mm might come in at??

Also, what is the normal wait time from when they announce it and dealer availability?

Apologies for the questions... the firearms that I have, had been in the market for awhile (Neos, M9A1, S&W 1911 Pro Series 9mm, and S&W M&P15 (5.56))... so no waiting for them. This being a new firearm, trying to understand how it works.

Announcing it April 12 my guess is that it will be at dealers by Christmas. Now I'm really looking forward to the NRA convention.

Here's a picture I cobbled together using the M&P9 Shield picture with an LC9 overlaid for reference.

They look similar in overall slide length because I matched that as a reference since no sizes have actually been mentioned (got to start somewhere ;)). With that in mind, the Shield grip seems a tad longer even if the LC9 were to have the pinky extension.

I have a 9c and 45c and HAD a BG 380. After all the firing pin issues, I sold the BG and got all my money back. I bought the PF-9 with an extra mag for under $300, and I LOVE IT. Mine had run great so far...200 rounds. It really is a nice gun. If I did it again, I would buy the PF-9 in HC...have blued version. I carry the PF-9 in a Remora or a Crossbreed (fake). The size and weight make the Remora work great.

Thank you. CDNN has it for 230.00 with one mag or 250.00 in HC... maybe a no brainer while I wait for S&W to have theirs readily available in the market...

I will wait until the announcement to see if they indeed release it for sale at the same time of the announcement, if not a PF-9 it is... thanks again.

Yesterday I saw on another forum in my country the information on the M & P Shield and I was amazed, it's a good offensive against its competitors by Smith & Wesson. You know if you are already on sale in the U.S. or are still waiting for its release.

To be released April 12. No confirmation on availability... that is what we are all waiting to find out on the 12.
