I want a 45 midsize gun with an optic and rather than wait for something to be released that I'd be interested in, I have reached out to a company to see about getting my HK45c milled. I'm looking at the carry size optics. I like the idea of putting a Trijicon RMRcc on it because of its durability, as well as I will probably be buying Trijicon suppressor height sights to co-witness. However the RMRcc is so long that I'm worried about reliability with a case ejecting and getting stuck on the glass.
I have a Holosun 507K on my Shadow Systems that I really like. I do enjoy the green light as well as the 32 moa ring with the 2 moa dot, however I only keep it in that mode when I'm wearing my glasses. Otherwise it's dot only as my astigmatism doesn't make the dot illegible like the circle dot pattern. I notice the Holosun is a lot smaller front to back and thus could sit further back from the ejection port.
What would you go with if you were making this modification? I've seen pictures of the RMR full size on HKs around. Since it has the same length as the cc I can pretty well imagine what that will look like. But I can't seem to find any pictures of one with a rmsc footprint optic. Thanks for the input.
