Here's the thing with the propaganda we get fed: They will tell you that armed citizens almost never stop or prevent crimes, but listen closely -- the crimes they are referring to are MASS KILLINGS, not mass shootings where no one died, not situations where maybe one person died, not any other violent crime -- but MASS KILLINGS, defined by the FBI as incidents when 3 or more people are killed. Armed citizens have rarely stopped MASS KILLINGS -- but they stop hundreds, if not thousands, of other violent crimes every single day in this country.
I guess their message is that the lives of only one or a few of us at a time don't really matter...

No profanity, oddly enough. The bad guy tells the store owner to show his hands, then is screaming that "he shot my arm off".
I gotta tell ya, as much as I liked the new Top Gun movie, this video was more satisfying!

I enjoyed in the clip in post 25 when a young regular customer comments on the shop owner, "I kinda expect that from him. He's a bad *** old man."

I took the liberty of adding the clip to my greatest hits vid collection.
there is a money shot frame in there where compressed clothing can be seen.
It is a coarse pattern with 2 impacts visible in the left deltoid and a strong probable in the left tricep.
There is also a visible compression area in the vicinity of the left pectoralis minor, which likely was a gift that kept on giving.
At the moment of magic, the perp was "bladed" left side into the heavy metal injection process.
The nature of the apparent pattern is congruent with the use of a large sized pellet in my opinion.
I suspect a collapsed lung eventually followed in response to the transverse path of the pellets, particularly that one affecting the pectoralis minor.
Well, it's not all good news. I certainly like the result for the perp, but the owner is also in the hospital.

At close range bird or skeet shot is pretty effective and a better choice for someone who is slight of build, has a visual impairment, a little frail or lame.
Wonder if the nitwit learned anything. Somehow, cynic that I am, I doubt it.
If your ever in a shoot out as a civilian there could be worse things to do than suspecting you may be having a heart problem when the police arrive on the scene. Never hurts us old guys to have the ticker checked after some serious excitement

Nobody said being a badass was easy, just awesome!
My wife and I lived in Norco for about 17 years before retiring and moving to Texas. We moved there so wife could have horses. We had a "whole" half acre, with a little 3 stall barn with runs out the back on top of a hill. Very cool place really. About 50 miles east of LA. called Horsetown USA, there are horse trails everywhere in town to every store, bar , whatever. We have been out at night and seen horses, zebras, even a camel tied up in front of the Saddle Sore Saloon.
Its hard to imagine a regular SoCal neighborhood with horses, goats, pigs, sheep, llamas, whatever you can imagine. No noise ordinances for animals, no HOA rules. All of which could be bad also but we were lucky. Our neighbor had peacocks---horses are quieter especially during breeding season. They really try to keep a country/western atmosphere as much as you can for SoCal. People there to some degree also. Years ago the news made a big deal because some old guy's house caught fire and they found a million rounds of ammunition (at least thats what the news said). It also was the location of the infamous NORCO bank robbery. Which led a lot of police departments to start carrying rifles at least in rural areas. It was a great place to live for LA area. Hated the 100 mile daily drive but once you were home it was nice. Great neighbors. Im sure it has changed a bit.
I bet these guy were either going or coming from Vegas as its a quick 4 hr drive up the 15 from there. Those places right off the fwy are used to being hit and are prepared.

After combing through the video, I found that his howling sounds much the same backwards as it does forward.
He might not have learned anything but he's become a qualified opinion on the subject of pain

I've looked at that video several times, and what really stands out to me is that this looks like a textbook example of a righteous and totally lawful use of force.
The store owner's restraint, self-control, and presence of mind is really remarkable! Faced with a masked, armed adversary, at 80 years old, he calmly fired only one round, accurately. He held his fire when the bad guy left. He stayed behind the counter, and didn't run out front and shoot at them as they fled. I wonder how many ordinary people in that situation would have been so composed?

Love it, Love it, Love it!!! I hope the gentleman doesn't lose his liquor license for what he said about the government employees. I love his story on why he is such a good shot!
