Anyone use them and/or have pics?

I'm considering a set for my 4013 and I'm curious to hear some reviews and see a few pics beyond the stock ones. Most talk of the wood Hogue grips seems to be around the smooth ones. I realize they add some bulk, but that's not an issue for me as I'm not entirely thrilled with the super slim stock grips.

I'll be following this as well. The few pictures I've seen of these grips look good, and I have no problem with wide wood grips on other guns such as SIG Sauers, so I've wanted to try these out. The ~$80 price is the only thing that has stopped me, and some first hand experience would help convince me either way.

I know that you are speaking specifically of the checkered grips, and the ones that I once owned for my 5906 were the Hogue smooth wood grips in pau ferro, but thought I would just give my input. I'm sorry, but this was one of the few sets of grips that I owned that I never captured a photo of.

The first thing I wanted to say is that the fit of these Hogue grips to the pistol frame is absolutely perfect, and the method that they use to attach them to the pistol is genius in design. I have rather large hands and by and large like large grips. However, these were just plain to fat for me. I just found myself taking them off and going back to the original grips. Now I have heard that the checkered version is thinner, or feels thinner, so I always wished that I had ordered them instead to see for myself, but, when you spend $90 on a pair of grips and you decide you don't like them, you always lose money. I just didn't feel like spending another $90 to see how much better the checkered ones would feel.

I can assure you that should you decide to order a set, you will not be disappointed in the fit and finish. The question is whether they will fit you, and there is only one way to find that out. Show us pictures if you decide to get them.

Thanks for the input!

I can definitely imagine how they could make a double stack pistol feel too big. I find the double stack 3rd gens comfortable, but at the upper limit of grip width for me.

On the other hand, I find the single stack guns to be almost too slim and the straight grip points too low for me. I'm hoping the checkered wood, beyond looking great, will add enough beef to the grip to correct the issues for me.
