Does anyone know if Hogue makes a grip for the MP Shield? Or is there one that is already out there that could fit the shield?

To answer your question (I think), they do make a grip sleeve that fits the shield: Hogue Rubber Grip Handall Jr. Small Size Grip Sleeve and for a 3rd of the price of the simple skateboard tape made by other companies.

I do believe they do make them for the Shield, and I was looking for them as well as other slip on brands. However, I decided after much reading about grips for the Shield, to purchase the Talons for my Shield. Boy am I glad I did. As the others have mentioned, the feel is incredible! And they fit like a glove. And easy to install as well. Plus you don't have to worry about a slip over grip sliding or twisting in the hand as some have experienced with them. Here is a photo of the Talons on my Shield. I love them!

Yes the Hogue Handall Jr does fit the Shield. I used one on my Shield for a while and liked it, but changed to Pachmayr Grip Glove, and like it a lot better. Its a little thicker on the sides and fills my hand better for a good grip.

The Talon grips are fine if all you want is a more textured grip so that the gun does don't slip out of your hand when it's wet, etc, but I think that the function that the slip on grips serve are both to improve the grip AND to widen the grip.

I had one on my PF9 because the grip was to thin for my taste...

For those of you running Talon rubber grips, any problems carrying iwb?

As I use Hogue grips on all of my other guns that have replaceable grips, I use Talon rubber grips on all of the others. I would have liked to have the finger grooves but do not care for the added thickness. I carry my Shield IWB and OWB without any issues. The are are also on my XDM competition pistol and have held up perfectly. A lot has to do with prep before installing them.

Does the Pachmayr put the side palm swell a little higher up in the grip than the Hogue does? I have the full size Hogue Handall on my full size CZ, and love it on that gun. I tried the Handall Jr on the Shield and just didn't like it. It made the grip feel very awkward to me. The palm swell felt too low in the hand. It was physically reversible, but the fit was worse if I flipped it. I don't dislike the stock nekkid Shield grip, but would like some rubber on it.

For me personally, there was night and day difference between the two. One thing I thought I would like about the Hogue and didn't was the finger notch. Once I put the Peace extensions on my mags, that notch piece seemed to bunch my fingers up no matter which way I put it on. Where the Hogue seems thin all around, the Pachmayr is a little thicker on the sides and at the back, and has more of a spongy feel when you grip it, which I like. Its all a matter of what works best for you and what you want to deal with. For me, the little added thickness and better grip, plus easy removal made it the best choice for me.

Thanks. I, too, generally don't care for finger grooves in gun grips. It's tolerable on my CZ P-09 because that grip is so long, you can actually wrap four fingers around it. But I didn't like the finger grooves of the Hogue on the Shield. I'll check out the Pachmayr grip next.

Yes. I must have really sweaty hands or something, because Talon grips just don't work for me. Once they were a little "smeared" from shooting, carrying IWB only made it worse until I ended up cutting the bottom "flaps" off of all my Talon grips. Sucks, because I really like the feel of the Talons.

Bringing this back up wondering what the latest and greatest might be for the shield.

Do the Talon, and other stick-on grips, begin to peel off over time?

They can but I've had a set on my 9c for well over a year and 2k rounds with no movement.

Preparation is key to the Talon or Traction grips staying in place. Clean the entire grip frame with copious amounts of 92% using a toothbrush or similar tool. Clean your fingers with the alcohol. Apply the grips and do the heat 'n press thing 3 or 4 times paying special attention to edges and small panel pieces. Let the gun sit for several hours afterward.

I cut my own panels from the Talon/Traction grip material and it held up very nicely. I've since had the weapon stippled for an even more aggressive fit in hand.

Yes unfortunately. When I had my Shield with the Talon grips, they did start peeling off. I trimmed the parts off that were coming off.

They sure feel good when first installed.
