Hogue Handall Jr on the Shield

This grip took a little bit of soapy water to put. The palm swell adds a little bit of width and the grip feels great!

The Hogue Jr and Pachmayr Size #4 both fit well.
So far though, I prefer the feel of the naked grip. No sleeve needed, like with my little PF-9.

I injured my wrist while remodeling a year ago and after putting a hundred rounds through my 40cal, it was hurting. I figured a little cushion might help. I may have to drop down to a 9mm, but I hope not

This was done after my range trip. I will be going out in a couple of weeks to see if this stays put. I have used this this grip on two other guns and had no slippage.

Never tried it but I hear cutting a bicycle inner tube to fit works wonders for dirt cheap.

Brother in law has this on his carry pistol. Not a fan of the look but it certainly does work well enough.

I have a Hogue on 2 other pistols. When put on properly and dried, they do not move. A small drop of shampoo in a 3 oz spray bottle, a couple sqiurts for lube, wipe off the excess, and let dry for at least 24 hrs. I speed up the process with a hair dryer. The soap lubes it and helps hold it in place when dry. The drawback to these grips, is the resistance against clothing for a fast draw. Some like it, some don't.

I have the jr. model on my shield as of day two. It is a $10 part that really makes the grip more comfortable for me. It does not really add to the thickness or conceal ability of the gun in any way. Be sure to trim a notch out for the mag release on the shooters right side to eliminate any issues releasing the magazine. I have no slippage as of yet.

I have one on my kahr CW 9 and it really made a difference, without adding much bulk. Good product.

I just heated mine up with a blowdryer for a couple minutes and pushed up with some finesse and fits like a glove. Didn't realize it has palm swells until I installed it. Can't beat it for the price!

I just used a glock 19 grip tape decal kit on my Shield 40. I hate it. It rubs on my back all day when i carry it and wont stay stuck down. After seeing this i ordered myself one. Hope it works well.

I went to the range today and put 65 rounds through the Shield 40cal with the Hogue grip on. I didn't even look at the grip until after I got home and I can tell you there was zero slippage or twisting of the grip. None what so ever. The grip made for a very pleasant shooting experience and it is there to stay.

I turned the Hogue Handall Jr grip upside down so there's a wider spacing between the trigger guard and finger groove bump. I like this grip a lot better in this orientation for large hands and it allows room for my finger.
I didn't use any slickem to put the grip on and chose to do it dry and it worked well.

No one mentioned the magic install way for those hogue handalls... Very well known on all the forums...

The SHield is small, so it may not be that hard to install..

However, in general, the best way is to boil water.

Once boiling, throw the handall into the boiling water for 1 minute. Remove with tongs and throw it on a towel. Wipe off all the water quickly, and then grab it and start installing.

The heat makes it stretch (it will just be warm to the touch once you get all the water off of it).

Once installed, it will shrink as it cools, and then it shouldn't move.
