Absolutely LOVE the hogues on my 649. Anyone using them? Opinions? Any issues with the tackiness??

ps I'd buy hardwood hogues for my Sport if they made em! lol

I have a Hogue on my 15-22 and love it. I'll probably end up replacing the Magpul grip my 15TS came with with another Hogue eventually.

Have rubber hogues on two 586's, one model 10, and a blackhawk. Coco bolo on a model 10, and Pau Ferro on a 63, and a set Coco bolo for a N-frame I don't have,,, yet. I really like them, lots! Now my hands are not small,[my gloves are X-large], I have had some shooters with really really large hands that didn't like them, finger grooves to close together. BIG guys. Otherwise everyone who handles my guns with hogues really like them. Have Pachy Grippers on a couple other's, a 19,
and a Redhawk, not bad, but not Hogue.

Love hogue grips but for the AR-15 they fell short. I prefer the Ergo tactical deluxe that fills in the web of my hand. If hogue made a bigger grip i would jump on it.

I prefer the more ergonomic grips on my AR's and I do have smaller hands. Hogue makes a great handguard and I love the Hogue grips that I have shot on pistols.

It was the first thing I did with the two m-49's for the girls !!
They never got to fire them with the small standard wood grips..................I did not want them to start off with a bad taste in their mouth.
However one of the ladys wanted a "PINK" one........!! :D

Revolver hogue grips are the absolute best IMO. I was wondering about the AR15 pistol grips only.

What exactly did you not care for? The size? Finger style grip? Material of construction?? Curious....

check out Mission First Tactical G27 grip. Also has storage area in the grip. Comes in black, green, tan about $16.00

That is the grip I have it was made by a differen company originally. Fits the hand so well, grippy without being tacky and also works great whether you are left or right handed. Thank you Saltair I couldnt remember who was making the G27 now! :D

I tried to going against the MOE grain and got a couple of AR Hogue grips. I just swapped them out today for the MOE. I thought I would like the rubber and did for a while but couldn't get used to the finger grooves. The MOE is just a nice, tacky, simple design.

After reading all this I've come to a conclusion....

I'm just going to have to pick one and take a chance. Read a lot or reviews as well. Pros and cons with each.

I guess the good news is they are pretty inexpensive. I was looking at the magpul UBR stock and almost hit the floor! $265?? wow! Seems awful high for a buttstock!

Congrats on the genesis of your box-o-AR-parts. All of us eventually ends up with one. Grips, handguards, light mounts, buffers, bi-pods...it just happens because our preferences evolve.

Regarding accessory price...

If you are buying an accessory just to add visual flare, then price becomes a shocker.

Buying AR furniture is like buying a pair of walking shoes. Buy a pair of ill fitting shoes, and you'll be uncomfortable all day long. Your feet will hurt. You wont walk as far or as often as you would with a pair of well fit, comfortable shoes.

Great analogy JaPes but I can assure you I won't be spending $270 on a buttstock! I just can't see how a $270 magpul would do anything more than say their MOE for $60. maybe I'm wrong on this but I doubt it even being a newb. I WILL add (or should I say save for) an $1100 ACOG but will do so because it adds function. Sure I'll experiment with grips because $20 is a few value meals but your not going to see a box of $270 buttstocks in my closet just so my rifle looks "the coolest". Function function function!!!!
