It'll be too big for the K model as it doesn't have a lug.

Check Bullard Leather for holsters. Their quality exceeds their price. I have 5-6 of theirs.

I'm going to say it will not be a good fit with that thumb break holster molded for a larger L-frame 586 being a good fit for the medium K-frame. I would look to something cheaper than $148 as advertised if I did want to shot the dice.

The general rule is - if it fits the larger gun Perfect-
It’ll fit the smaller one looser!
And sometimes an older leather holster will stretch our enough for a larger gun.

The L-frame holster will accept the K-frame revolvers, but the reverse is not likely to work. Larger frame and larger cylinder diameter, in addition to the different barrel profiles.

Not the ideal solution, but it can work for occasional uses. The smaller revolver will move around more in the holster during carry use, thus extended use can result in greater holster wear on the handgun finish. Retention devices are likely to be somewhat looser.

The Galco link posted let's you choose a holster for a 4" M19 which I would think ought to fit a 4" 617. It only has left handed though. Still, it shows they make a 4" target sighted K-frame holster of that style. I'd try to call Galco up to discuss.
