I have two IWB holsters made for the M&P9c (40 and .357 compacts are identical in size), a Comp-Tac CTAC and a K&D Cochise Defender.
Comp-Tac CTAC (stock image)
CTAC pros:
1) Fairly easy to obtain, wait time usually a week.
2) Advertised as tuckable (you can tuck your shirt over the gun in the holster) and it really works.
3) Adjustable for ride height and cant.
CTAC cons:
1) More expensive than some high quality leather
2) Not as comfortable as leather, but still very useable
K&D Holsters Cochise Defender (now replaced by Thunderbird Defender and Dakota Defender models, same comments apply)
Cochise Defender pros
1) Extremely comfortable
2) Less expensive than CTAC
3) Inside is finished smooth so once broken in draw is kydex fast
4) Ride height and cant angle adjustable
5) Uses easily obtainable Comp-Tac belt clips
Cochise Defender cons:
1) Ride height and cant angle adjustment range is less than CTAC
2) Wait time is over four months for one
3) Advertised as tuckable but not so in my experience
My advice is order a CTAC now to get something to carry the gun and live with it for a while. If you like the comfort, keep it. If not, order a Defender from K&D and sell the CTAC when the leather arrives.
