I have a Shorty 40 2000 and would like to get a proper holster (LH) made for the gun.

I found one for a 4013 on line but it looks like it's made for a rail. Would that effect retention?

M.S. won't make a holster for PC guns (says they are too different) so I need a comparable gun to use as a model.

Is this piece based on the 4013, 6906 or other?

Any help in selecting a holster would be appreciated.

Thanks.

The Shorty is based on the 4013TSW/6900 guns, the older 4013 is on the compact 45 frame. I wouldn't think the lack of a ER would make that much differance in the holster, trigger guard and height are the same.

The original Shorty 40 was based on the 6906 back in '92. Your Shorty 40 2000 should be the exact same frame size. There were some machining changes on some of the latter Shorty 40 slides so there may be some difference there. However my two Shorty 40s, both early generation guns work well in anything that is made for a 6900 series or a 4000/5900 series if you don't mind the additional 1/2" of holster.

The Shorty 40 actually fits in anything that my 4000 series guns will and I use them enterchangably, this inlcudes custom leather too.

Cheers,
Sam
