I am trying make a new holsters with some style. . .trying to take my hobby to the next step and do custom jobs for other people. any suggestions from anyone out there.

Step One in 'doing custom jobs for other people": remember that, although these are classed by the Patent Office as 'article carriers' along with tape measure pouches for tradies; nevertheless they're for weapons that, unlike tape measures, have a ball of flame exit from the muzzle along with a bit'o'lead travelling at 800 fps and up. And so create every design, and make every holster, and test every order, as if that would happen every time without your skills (if any). It's not a cell phone pouch.
 
You guys down under have alot of laws. Pretty soon no guns at all. Be safe! God Bless. I like old school proven designs.
