Good Morning again,

Does any model 39 owners know of any type or maker of a holster that will fit a 39-2?

I would like to use my 39-2 for a CC and I am having a difficult time finding a holster to fit it.. I realize it's a 50 some yr old handgun but I was surprised to find all of the "custom" holster makers using the modern kydex or hybrid kydex/leather only make holsters for the firearms being sold today. And I have not found anyone that would make a "one of one holster ".

I have a Bianchi soft leather holster with a metal belt clip that is 1970's era that came with my second hand purchase of the gun. I've owned the pistol since the late 70's. That holster, while probably hi-tech for that time period does not work for concealed carry. Once drawn, it takes two hands and a boy scout to re-holster the weapon.

I did find one holster company that listed a model 3913 S&W. But in researching that model, it's listed as a compact and I'm assuming they changed the frame and slide enough that it's not the same 39-2 size.

Any thoughts or knowledge would be appreciated
thank you,

Most 5906/4006 holsters will work for the 39.

You will have to search Ebay for the older holsters.

If you can get a 3913 holster that will be open ended, a 39-2 should fit. If its not open ended, a lot of them can be opened up.

Im also on the hunt for a modern kydex holster to use with my 39-2 and 459, something that uses DCC clips and a modwing to pull the grip in

There’s a small company called Everyday Holsters that has some modern kydex holsters as i just described for a 3913, and has an option to allow for a threaded barrel. I’ve been trying to contact him to see if that option will be a totally open bottom, as it would then work perfectly

Surprised you haven't checked Ebay, positive I saw a few M-39 holster the other day when window shopping on Ebay. Good quality/condition vintage holsters from major USA mfgs usually sell for $50 or less and will be delivered in a few days not months.

Holsters for the 439, 639, 3906 and the 459, 659 and 5906 should be close enough to work. Do pay attention to the trigger guard configuration, as that may have changed during the model changes.

The slide height of the 4000 series pistols was much different from that of the 9 mm pistols, any holster that will take those, will be sloppy with the smaller 9 mm slide.

Many thanks to everyone that wrote with suggestions and what they are using. I knew I would find lots of info in your suggestions and I will start looking at all of the ideas you suggested and see what I can find.

Surprisingly, when I decided to get a 2nd magazine, E-Bay was the first place I looked. For some unknown reason, I never thought of E-Bay before I posted looking for help with the holster. Duh!!

Thank you all again for your help. I'm sure I will find something that will work for me.

I have a Bianchi #7/7L S&W 9mm (Shadow). It's a 2 slot pancake,
probably as old as my 39-2. It fits all of my 39/59 39xx/59xx S&W semis. I googled it and there is a "Bianchi Holster - Model 7 Leather Shadow II" still being made for the 3904/06, it's a three slot pancake.

My 39-59's ride in my Kramer MSP Horsehide paddle holster. Not a cheap solution but what a fit!!

I found a black leather OWB "Security Pro" #4146 4046 holster on Ebay (don't remember the price, but it was reasonable). It has a thumb-break snap. My 39 (nothing), 659 and 5906 all fit well in it.
