I've searching but haven't seen much 686 3" holsters. Seems the popular ones are either 4 or 6"
Can anyone suggest a good one without going custom?
thx

Email forum member Ray Cory (Lobo Gun Leather)for sugestions and pictures. It is my understanding there is almost no wait and exceptional prices and craftmanship.

My CS-1 came with a S&W holster that is perfect. I looked for a number on the back and it's just stamped BFW. It may have been the issued holster for the U.S.Custom Agents. You may be able to find it on the S&W website.-Steve

El Paso Saddelry makes very good Holsters and my guess is they will gladly make a 3" for you ... check their "Double Agent" model.

I've had 2 made for my 3incher. One from Fist holsters and another from Don Hume. The fist is the better quality, but the Don Hume is the style I now like better.

Custom is the best direction, in my opinion. The "rack" holsters made by volume makers (Bianchi, Safariland, Galco, etc.) don't work well for me, generally they are of good quality, but they use a standard belt loop size usually, and a 2" belt slot dosen't work well with a 1 1/4" or 1 1/2" belt, too much movement.

Buying a good belt/holster combo will get you going in the right direction and almost guarantee good results. I've found Kramer, Milt Sparts and even the kydex holsters from Bladetech to be good quality.

For any substantial guns, consider going Inside the Waistband (IWB), it will be more secure and comfortable.

not sure what type holster you are looking for but the fobus paddle for L frame S&W will hold your 3in.
