It's most assuredly NOT to "apprehend" people, ESPECIALLY in my home. The police aren't going to protect me as an individual. It's not their job. That's MY job. It IS there job to investigate crimes and arrest criminals. I haven't the slightest desire to stand in for them in those endeavors.
