HomeSmith Trainwreck #1: Mud Hen

1 year, 4 months, and 6 days is not exactly a commercially viable turnaround time for anyone except the people at the very top of the food chain, but I appreciate the compliment greatly.

For some of the projects I work on the name "Donner Pass Gunsmithing" might be more appropriate, or to make it a bit more obtuse and require some google-fu to get the joke I could say that I graduated from the Alfred Packer School of Gunsmithing. :D

Mud Hen lives!!

I think I may need to drift out the pin and tweak the barrel alignment just a bit. I want to shoot again under different light conditions with the front sight painted and from a bench before I do that, but considering that there are 6 shots in this target and 3 of them went through the same hole, I'm pretty sure I know.

This may also be a good time to try my hand at babbit bar thumping on the front locking lug to move the barrel just a bit at a time.

No keyholes, 100% reliability, and holes in the black are a good thing. :D

Honestly, looks close enough for government work!
