Hope all is well with you and yours wherever this message finds you. I picked up a Sig Sauer P365 months ago for legal CC and have been very impressed with it. I would encourage anyone to give it a shot.

In all seriousness, this has been a great EDC firearm and I think it has truly 'broken the mold' on what we would carry as law abiding citizens in a pocket or CC holster. I don't have a horse in the race so to speak, and am just speaking from my personal experience; however, it is analogous to having a full size--yet compact--alternative for carry.

To anyone who may be considering an alternative or addition to a revolver for CC, I would highly recommend. Again, I am just a consumer and it is very rare I would sing praise on anything, but find this to be a sound solution.

I am buying another one.

Anywho, folks who own one, please share your thoughts. I'm sure this fella ain't alone in these thoughts. Kind regards, TH

So far so good, no malfunctions or hiccups of any kind. It has been everything I hoped it would be and then some. Glad to read another positive post about the P365. Hopefully the others on here who have one will chime in.

Hello all
I agree for me it has ended my search for a easy to conceal 9mm handgun in Florida weather.
Nothing about it i would change, well magazine price could be less.
Its not my favorite 9 i have but for concealed carry its great.
In 12 years i have tried more than a few.
Coupled with my Tommy Theis IWB holster it hides well when its 92 degrees and 92%humidity.
If i lived in a different climate and wore more clothes my choice may be different ??
Thats my experience.

I have no complaints about my 365, but it is a bit big and heavy for me to consider as pocket carry-able. That's no drawback since I'd rather wear it on my belt anyway. Someone might say if you're going to wear it on your belt, why not carry a bigger gun? For me, the 365 is about as big as I can have any confidence in easily hiding. All in all, it's a great next-step-up from an Airlite or Airweight J-frame.

I agree with the OP and the other comments. I use a Vedder IWB kydex and love i t. Also take a look at the grip sleeve for P365, which makes an already great grip frame feel even better. I think it's by Hogue.

I loved my Shield 9 and never thought I'd find a better tiny 9mm, but the P365 is it. Smaller, better trigger, and better accuracy for me.

As regards tiny .45s, the Shield 45 is still unsurpassed in my mind. I still have two.

I have a P365 and a Vetter Pocket Locker kydex holster. This combination carries well in my Wrangler relaxed fit jeans, but drawing is problematic. I have to grip the grip frame and push it forwards until the bottom of the magazine exits the pocket, then pull backwards (hard) on the gun to get it out of the pocket. I would not rely on this procedure for self defense. I am now looking at soft holsters for the jeans, and I just ordered some cargo pants with big pockets to see if they will work with the Vetter holster. Hickok45 on YouTube has commented on compact 9mms as pushing the size limit of pocket carry. He says that 380s are the standard for pocket carry. So be prepared to have to solve this issue.

I have a 365 and have tried several types of ammunition from reloads to hollow points not one malfunction of any kind over 400 rounds thru it so far. Wife will be carrying one soon also.

I carried a Kahr PM9 in an Alabama Pocket Holster for many years.

Since I purchased the P365, and an APH for it, the Kahr has languished in the safe.

timely post, just put 200 rounds through mine yesterday, a mix that included the +P I carry. Great sights, accurate for the short sight radius.
Do prefer a Hogue grip sleeve so my large mitts have more to hand onto.
365 has milder recoil than the G43 formerly in EDC rotation, or my 642 with +P.

Preferring the 12 round mag, find it a tad big for pocket carry in anything other than cargo pockets with a diaganol slash, so usually carry AWIB, these days in a Gunners minimalist (thanks for the tip, Justin T).
Prefer AWIB for most of my smaller EDC's, quick to draw whether standing or sitting. A downside to pocket carry is body positions that shut down quick weapon access.
The 365 is a grand slam and that's a good thing. Because now my time and $ will no longer be spent on SD handguns, both will go towards handguns that are just fun to own and shoot.

I agree with everything you have said. But I ended up removing mine, because it increased grip width by 1/4 inch, printed the grip frame in my pocket, and made drawing more difficult.

A new owner of a P365 myself. Loving this little guy. I'm also glad that I waited for the model to be out long enough to go through a couple of typical-for-Sig revisions.

Because of this one works so well in the form factor, I've sold a P290, Glock 36 and a Walther PPS M2.

I bought my first a couple of weeks after they were in the shops. Worked with it for a month or so, sold my Shield, put my Kahr PM9 in the safe, and bought a spare P365 just because I do not see how a carry gun could get any better. I still feel that way.
Put a Sig Flat trigger in one and I think that works a bit better for me. Probably over 7000 rounds through my first purchase. I did replace the recoil spring assembly and bought another spare RSA and striker just in case.
Kusiak or Vedder Lighttuck for AIWB carry. Both great holsters.

I love mine. Mostly carry it IWB in this minimalist holster. Basically covers the trigger and muzzle. I'm spolied and won't carry it IWB any other way.

I'm in Ca., So getting ahold of one is problematic. (Best case scenario..... retail X2). I made the investment and am glad I did.
The only modifications I have made is a Houge Handall grip sleeve and having Sig replace the #6 front sight with a #8 front sight to put the POI on top of the front sight rather than under the dot on the front sight. (Sent the slide to sig. it was back in 6 days).
Sig came up with a winner.

I currently have two-a P365XL with a Romeo Zero red dot on it and a standard P365 that I put Trijicons on as I didn't care for the little sights that came on it.

The XL was my first experience carrying a red dot sight on a defense gun-works great so far.

Both work perfectly and I even sold my Glock 43X since it was just languishing in the safe.

I did keep my Glock 42, but that's another story.

I know it's subjective, but tell me about the recoil impulse, please.

I have three smallish nines. The Ruger LC9s hurts my hand to shoot it. I think because of the very narrow grip. The Taurus G2S is slightly bigger and wider. It's a joy to shoot. No pain and seems reliable and reasonably accurate. The CZ Rami is about the same height and length, but it's double stack and much heavier. It is a pleasure to shoot and one of my favorite handguns. A bit heavy for carry, though.

So, how does the Sig compare to those in terms of recoil in your experience?

You'll find people who say the P365 shoots like a full-sized gun. This includes recoil impulse, in my opinion. I don't find it to be snappy at all-fairly pleasant, in fact.

Great little pistol. Fits my hand with the 12 round pinky magazine perfect. I am getting older, so now I use the Uplula loader. Magazines are pretty stiff for me

The Springfield Hellcat is a much better gun:

Reliable from its release (not so much for the SIG) and with a greater magazine capacity. Better sights and more ergonomic for people with larger hands. Phenomenal gun in the same class as the P365, but more dependable.

Hellcats hetter ? Well maybe for you . But then nether my wife or I like the P365 or the hellkitty or want another mini pocket sized handgun that small P365 included . I carried a cm9 for some years as an at work pocket carry but when I retired so did that pistol .

I did buy a stainless kimber ultra II 9mm and couple years ago as a small thin carry option for me but after adding thin grips and 400 rounds fired MY wife tried it and figure I bought it for HER . She did ask after a few weeks if the trigger reach could be shorter so it has a EB short trigger to it. I figured I just carry my old s&w 669 if a small pistols needed but a month or so ago I bought a P365xl with thumb safety for 540 plus tax new a while back . Well again I did my normal get to know it 400 rounds fired and then asked my wife to try it while hoping !! She fired one mag full then fired a mag full one handed at 10 yards and fired 2- 6 shot groups that measure 1.5" and said how's that ? . I got my Kimber ultra 9mm back finally ay least !!

My wife is a little 5'-2 and carries at 3:00 .

Been pocket carrying mine for over a year and a half. No issues, good shooter, very reliable. I'm very recoil tolerant, the P365 recoil is a bit snappy to me, but very manageable. I highly recommend.

To answer the question above, I do not find the recoil to be of any issue or consequence but your mileage may vary. It shoots more like a full size and is not snappy in my opinion. Perhaps you can go to a local range or gun store and rent one.

I pocket carry my P365 and spent a lot of money on a leather pocket holster that has the same issues. Has the ears that are supposed to keep holster in the pocket when drawing but comes out with pistol every time. I switched to a Mika and its perfect!! I'm going to order one for my J Frames as well. Very reasonable priced and works perfect!

SIG Quality

At least since domestic and federal law enforcement began their transition to semi-autos, SIG has enjoyed a reputation for quality. In the years since, gun manufacturers keep leapfrogging each other, offering convenient features the lead you wondering just why it took so long for someone to think of.

WCCPHD is a member here, retired LEO and speaks in glowing terms regarding the SIG 365. I already have a bunch of guns but I'd be leaning to the 365 XL as it is no less concealable than the standard 365 and fits my hand better than the smaller model. Fortunately or unfortunately, by September, there will probably be at least a dozen more guns from various manufacturers to choose from.

I looked over the 365, nice but a little to small grip area, I instead bought
a FNS9C. A great all around pistol I think.
