Hoppe's 9 quick clean rust and lead remover cloth

Ren wax fan

Ren Wax is good. You can put it on the stocks also, especially on the inside, to help protect them. You don't want oil soaking into the stocks.

Good for the gun, stocks and the box and holster if you have one.

Sometimes the finish on an M28 will surprise you. I have a couple that are finished much better than the econo-finish (brush blue or satin blue or whatever they called it then). It may have been just the luck of the draw as to M28 finishes. I surmise that guns going in large orders to LE agencies got the cheapie finish whereas those destined to fill gun store orders for civilians may have gotten extra attention. Of course, this type of speculation is worth what you paid for it.

I'm plenty OK with the bluing on this one, its a shooter. :)

Actually, you did give me my monies worth. :D
