Would it be safe to shoot the Hornady Critical defense 125 gr. in a K fraame revolver. I know there has always been talk about the 125 gr bullets causing damage to the k frmaes

From their website, they show it with a muzzle velocity of 1500fps. That sounds a little hot for extended use in the K-Frame. The Remington Golden Saber might be a better choice in .357 magnum, if you want to use a 125 gr bullet.

If it were my K frame I wouldn't shoot it. I would shoot 145gr Winchester Silvertip or one of the fine quality 158gr loads available.

In my 65 I use Hornady 158 grain JHP XTP and the are rated at 1250 fps. No problems so far. Make sure that you keep that forcing cone immaculate if you're gonna try something that hot. The ones that I buy say "custom" on the box. They are expensive at a buck a piece but they will kill whitetail very dead. Probably just about anything I would ever encounter around here as well.
Good luck,
Gordon
