Hornady Leverevolution and K frames?

Hornady Leveroloution and K Frames.

Sgt Preston here. I have not shot this ammo out of a revolver, BYT we have shot lots of it out of a friend's Marlin Lever 357 Rifle. And WOW I am impressed! We shoot baseball sized grouds at 100 yards repeatedly. It's a great brush gun & excellent ammo. Hope this helps. Sgt Preston USMC LLA

This is the pointy, soft polymer tipped stuff that's supposed to be safe in the tubular magazines of lever rifles, right? Why shoot it out of a revolver? Isn't it meant for long range shooting? If you don't have to pay for it, that's one thing, but for my money there's a lot of better stuff out there for revolver use.

I have my 1873 Win replica so it's mostly for that now,but I like to know I can still shoot it out of my pistol if need be.

Being prepared and all that :D

BTW this stuff is NASTY out of said carbine, shot a possum awhile back and it was akin to stuffing a grenade up his butt!!

I just read these specs again. The 1440fps is from an 8 inch barrel... I wonder what the loss is when you cut the barrel down to 3 or 4 inches? I think it's very likely in the realm of any strong 158'er.

I don't see it being ALL THAT BAD for the Ks. I just put a few of them into moon clips, and I'll shoot them next outing.

I also found that I still have a partial box of the 170 grain Gold Dot JSPs. Now I'll bet that rocks from a 3 incher!!!
