And it was 51 on July 19th at 6:30 AM in southern Indiana. The lowest temp in about a 100 years for that date.

About 15 years ago we were seriously considering moving to the desert in Utah. We'd been there many times in the fall, winter, and spring. Never in the summer. So showing a flash of common sense for a change, I suggested we make a mid summer visit for a few weeks. My wife was/is always up for a vacation, so we went.

We got there and it was a warm 114. We'd been driving all day to get there, so we just packed it into our motel room with the AC. Next day it cooled all the way down to 112, so we spent the rest of the time exploring the LaSal mountains. Its nice at 11,000+ feet. We didn't move.

It was 117 here on Sunday, 94 this morning at 6am. Sixty miles away at Lake Havasu City it was 122 last Sat. & Sunday. And yes, I live here by choice. After all, it's a dry heat!

Hey, Lee, that 122 in Lake Havasu was a dry heat also. Even now, during the monsoon season. This goes on for a couple of months but my winter temperatures seldom get below freezing so those in Buffalo, New York can eat their hearts out !!!

My evaporative cooler still keeps the garage below 80 degrees F. The house is at 77 with a heat pump.

Yes, I live in Lake Havasu City by choice. My property taxes last year on a 3 br, 2000 sq ft home with a pool were just a shade over $1000 for the year. Nice lake about 4 miles from the house too. Or, I can shoot year round, my range fees are $60 a year.

It was 117 there this afternoon as I passed through. Dropped to a chilly 115 as we crossed the Colorado and warmed right back up to 117 almost all the way to Chiriaco Summit. It was a frigid 99 when we got home to Temecula, a little still with no breeze but not so bad, or at least not bad enough to kick on the A/C yet.
