Hi, everyone -

I'm embarrassed to admit that I don't know how to remove the Houge rubber grips (Monogrips?) that came on my newly acquired 3" Model 64 (round butt). It looks like they can just be pried off, but I though I'd seek counsel before diving in with my trusty tire tool.

Any words of wisdom?

Thanks in advance,

Hi Rick,

Take out the screw on the bottom of the grip. Grab unto the grip and pull down (not back). Grip should come right off. Remove the stirrup on the base of the grip frame and install whatever is going on next.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, Randy -

There's no (visible) screw on the bottom of the grip. The whole backstrap is exposed, as is the bottom of the grip frame, where the serial number is visible.

I can't see any slits/slots where a screwdriver could be inserted.

UPDATE: I just googled Hogue Monogrips & from the site, learned that what I have are called "Bantam Grips", not Monogrips. Sorry for the misleading info. Apparently, the Bantam Grips just "snap onto the gun".

I'll be gentle & see what happens...

Thanks again,

Success! Thanks, Lorin & Iron Sight - now I'm not quite as clueless as I was an hour ago!

Thanks again,

Don't feel alone. I bought a set of Bantam grips yesterday and could not figure out how to get the damn thing on, and I know how to put on Mono-grips. The instructyions in the case were for a different grip altogether. I called Hogue for instructions, and the gal on the phone couldn't tell me.; Finally I fiured it out and got them on and they are great. but what a cluster F#@&!

I think they need to work on their packaging or something, or else I'm just too freaklin dumb to do it.

Glad you had success.
