Three L Frame Beauties

Here are my three L frames. The first, as 686 in factory black, is unmodified except for the Spegel Extended Boot grips and PC Master Action job. The other two are PC 586 L-Comps, one in 3" (I have two identical I use for carry) and one in 4" which I shoot in IDPA competition. All of them wear Spegel Extended Boot grips.

Just a plain ol' 686 no dash I bought new in 1982, shown with a custom presentation box my Dad made for my birthday that year.

According to my inflation calculator, that price would equate to only about $480 today. That was an excellent price even in 82.

Here's my 586 no dash, no M that I picked up a few weeks ago, in the box with everything right down to the original sales slip. Still even smells like Smith oil

Can you believe the original price back in 1982? I paid a LOT more than that, believe me.

This one is called "Stinkbutt."

Because the butt retains the overpowering odor of the previous owners' Eau-de-Doo-dah-Dey cologne.

I had one just like yours, once. Had to sell due to medical bills. Fine revolvers. Very accurate. Loved the 4 position front sight on that l-o-n-g barrel. Maybe I will find another some day.
