That's pretty cool...but it would be interesting to see both the SD9 and your SD9c together. It would make it easier to make a comparison.
I just bought a Ruger LC9 today, and while I haven't gone to the range with it, it feels very good in the hand, and the trigger is smooth. S&W needs to come out with something similar.

Shortening the grip of a Sigma or a SD would surely make it easier to conceal, especially if the magazine was double stack and 10 rounds. Ruger did that with their SR9 and ended up with the SR9c. I love the Sigma, but it is just a tad thicker than my SR9c. Nice job with photo shop though.

I believe you are right on they would be a great seller. Just have to convince the people at S&W.
I actually did this one a year or so back. I really think a G26 sized SW9VE and/or a SD9 would really sell for Smith & Wesson.
Well, I'm new to this forum.. This is actually first post, though I can be found on numerous other forums.
Anyways, this thread caught my eye and I was wondering, would it not be possible to make something similar? Kahr at one point made a covert and members of another forum have mentioned making their own coverts by cutting the grip.. I know the barrel and slide would remain full size, however, wouldn't it be possible to cut down the grip on an sw9ve and then use some aftermarket or even kt's p11 mags? Or are their any other mags that could fit flush if one were to cut down on the grip?
It's very possible. It's done all the time with both Glocks and XDM's. Kel-Tec P11 mags would not be compatible, but it would be possible for a skilled metal worker to simply cut down the 16 round Sigma mags (and springs) to hold 10 rounds or so. The real question however is would it be worth the time and cost to cut down a $300 gun when there are other good sub-compact guns available in that price range. Now if you have the skill set to do it yourself that's another story.

I carry my SD as my CCW with an IWB holster; I see no need to go to a compact. In fact the reason I choose the SD over the M&P was the SD did not have a beaver tail which the M&P does on there non compact pistols. To me the SD is basically a US made Glock 19.

I have carried my SD9, got a CB-Supertuck knock-off, and a cheap leather belt-holster. But mainly I use it as a bedside giun, with no manual safety, the Micro90 light. I carry a SR9c cause it's a bit shorter at the grip, and 1/2" shorter barrel. I might just trade my SR9c for a SD9c...maybe....much as I love S&W that Ruger sure feels good, and it hits where I;m aiming- with or without using the sights.

Hi everyone, new member, have shot for years, retired law enforcement, etc. Anyway, I have a question. I have a 40 sigma, and wanted to compare it to an SD. Primarily, as all sigma owners, I am concerned about trigger. I've looked at SD's but have never seriously considered one. I bought the sigma based on all past experiences with S&W, and while there are things I love about it, there is the trigger. I won't "modify" and ruin the warranty, so I guess I just live with it. Anyway, is the SD any different that the sigma, or what?
I just ordered a M&P Shield, and also have a model 10 2", my father's gun as a detective Lt.

a Sigma in 45ACP would get my attention. I will open carry when possible. don't have a real need for CC although I like IWB/Tuck.

mustang, I haven't fired a sigma except dry-fire a few times, but the SD does have an updated, better trigger. Some will say they don't like it, but then again some say they hate the M&P trigger. I love mine- haven't done anything to it, and it's smooth, reliable, of course a little long but - well- it's a striker-fired pistol. Since it has no manual safety it's really a good thing it's long- as a LEO I'm sure you'd agree.
