With summer upon us and the temps and humidity running high how are you beating the heat?
Since I'm retired there is nothing I really need to do. Anything I need to do outdoors I do in the early morning and after the sun goes down!
Have been drinking a lot of fluids staying in the AC and doing evening swims!
Of course the evening swim is accompanied with some ice cold adult beverages! :D

I don't, I just cope.
Was helping a guy stash the SCBA when the plant manager strolled by with his floppy hat and shorts doing his daily constitutional and says "Hot enough for ya?".
I told him to check out the dewatering building, I just came out to cool off.

He seemed confused as he walked away.

It's been a pretty hot hitch over here by Midland, TX. Today was rather cool; it was only 99 degrees when I got up this afternoon at 4 PM. Makes me glad I am working nights. The last 3-4 days before today have been in the triple digits and a lot closer to 110 than 100.

Next week I'll go back home to LA where it will only be in the 90's, but with much higher humidity.

The last 2 days we just experienced?!?! My boss gave me the privilege to be outside both days doing manual labor that was time sensitive! I'm so thankful. On the plus side I drank 12 gallons of water a day and never once needed a bathroom break!

Here in sunny SC its been over a 100 for the last 2 weeks with high humidity(normal for us)......I can't stay inside.......Bubba cup full of ice tea or water & I'm outside most of the day.....Even shooting mid day......My bench is shaded by pine trees......No big deal.

Like Mike said, high heat and high humidity are killer down here! Heat index locally has been approximately 110 all week. I stay inside as much as possible. The sad part is I just returned from a vacation to Montana where the lows were mid 50's and highs mid 80's with little to no humidity!:(

I've been here 37 summers. The first 7 I worked heavy construction sometimes 16 hour days. The heat is just weather. I walked 28 miles this week, 2 short of the normal 30. Get out before 10 and an hour and a half later I have reached a deeply meditative state. Worse when the wife joins me, @ 10 years younger it's hard to keep up. Joe
