How can this be?

That ALL of the "Depression-Drug enhancements" need to say "May increase suicidal thoughts or actions"?
Geez, why'd you have to point that out? Now what? It seems there's nothing left...no hope...just.blackness.😉

Be glad not to take THIS drug...
"This medicine may cause a rare but serious bacterial infection, called necrotizing fasciitis of the perineum or Fournier's gangrene, which can cause damage to the tissue under the skin in the area between and around the anus and genitals (perineum). "

Don’t know why but this made me think back 20 or 30 yrs ago when Olestra was introduced and they warned that anal leakage was a possible side effect…
People sure lost weight running to the toilet. Could have made a fortune with a pay toilet back then.

That is because the anti depression drugs,

https://www.spravatohcp.com/?gclid=...tm_content=Esketamine HV-TXT-National-NA-1-EX

Are trying to play gods. And most are not going to actually do anything to help a person. Most of these drugs, and modern drugs in general have been designed to require other drugs to deal with the side effects.

There is at least one eczema drug that includes eczema as a known side effect. As well as colon cancer, irittable bowel syndrom, crohns, and kidney cancer.

I think it's mainly a disclaimer to cover their butt should some poor depressed individual taking the drug play Russian Roulette with himself using a fully charged cylinder or try a belly flop off the Golden Gate Bridge. I've yet to see a pharma commercial touting their latest and greatest drugs of any type without listing a string of ill-effects that would make any sane person refuse to take it for their individual problem.

Anti depression drugs may cause facial movement...facial movement drugs may cause depression...and round and round it goes, drug companies and advertisers laughing (and twitching) all the way to the bank. Then there are the schizophrenia drug commercials, had no idea that was common enough to support a TV advertising campaign. And don't even get me started on the ads for stool softeners for opioid addicts. I'm a free-market guy but would love to see a ban on TV advertising for the companies that peddle this stuff.

Because suicides dont actually happen during depression. They happen after or right before. Its not an on/off switch. During depression the person doesnt want to do anything. When they start to come out of it and start getting some desires and motivations back thats when they take action. Same thing in reverse. Shortly before the onset of full blown depression, while there is still some desire and willingness to go through it.

So as the drug lifts the causes of depression there is a window in between full blown depression and feeling completely well where suicidal thoughts and actions can occur

This doesnt mean that the drug chemical cant have a side effect, only that this is how it is with people who come out of depression without drugs. This is from interviews of people who's suicides failed.

Not all drugs effect all people the same way. One that makes you happy might make another more depressed. Your bodies chemical composition and usage is not exactly the same as everyone else. Just look at food for example, I eat lots of meat, bacon included and eggs etc, yet my cholesterol levels are not elevated.

A lot of medical advice is outdated. Cholesterol is one of those. This is why they keep goin back and forth on eggs and butter. Most of the cholesterol in your body is made by your body, very little is from food. Youll find that people who eat a "clean" diet....their food will have little to no effect on their overall levels.

This is of course a bit broad. Im talking in general terms. Some people have no reaction and some have a big reaction (good or bad) to lowering or adding more food cholesterol. Only way to know is to do a test then change the input and do another test a few months later.

If you want to read something interesting, read the little paper inside a box of aspirin letting you know of the possible side effects. I think, but am not sure, that it may cause an ocean liner to hit an iceberg and sink. I read once where if they tried to bring aspirin to the market today, that it would never be allowed due to all the side effects. I do agree with the OP, as I have mentioned that to my wife about the fact that if you are depressed, take this med and it may cause you to commit suicide........

But all the side affects can make you sick or kill you. Who would want to use them.
So what you're saying is you need something for those side effects?!?!?!:p

I am joking a little of course. Unintended chemical interactions happen and you may need another chemical to counteract the first one

I knew and know a number of folks with straight up depression as well as bi-polar disorder. On meds they were and are fine - off them, not so much.

Then there's John Parker Hyde, who was fine while on his meds. He went off them for a while in '05 and killed 5 random people in 3 locations with an old Webley. He's been at the state 'nervous hospital' (tip o' the hat to Karl, aka Billy Bob Thorton) since. While there, he's on meds and a model patient. He'll die there because when he goes off his meds he could very easily be right back in '05. https://www.krqe.com/news/crime/man-accused-of-killing-5-still-deemed-incompetent/
