You know what they say about the weather..............Chilli today, hot tamale.
We had our cold weather over Christmas week. It was so cold the zoo took the penguins inside!
^^^ Get back to us in July or August and let us know how that "warm sun" is working out for you!Was in the high 60s here today with no wind, warm sun, and now it's 56 degrees at night.![]()
We had the coldest Xmas week in over 100 years here.
Folks like to BMW (Complain, Whine, Moan) about the cold, but forget just how hot it gets in the southern latitudes over summer. I can deal with the cold a lot easier than the heat.
No so for my poor little dog. I got her last July at the local animal shelter. She is a 4 year old Corgi/terrier mix, and spent her life in Alabama, where she was abandoned. Long story how she got here. I'll be glad for her when it warms up. In the mean time I do my best to keep her as comfortable as possible:

Good for you. You'd be shocked and saddened to see/hear the cases of people leaving their dogs chained and tied outside during this cold weather, temperatures down into the single digits. And dogs falling through the ice of frozen ponds.
Even my dogs, who love cold weather as much as I do, are spending more and more time inside with me now in the daytime. We still go for our daily walks through the woods while the temperature gets up into the 20s, but once the temperatures start dropping and the sun goes down, they're inside until the next morning.
Gotta take care of the dogs, that's all there is to it.
It will fill back up when the snow melts [emoji2]We lost a local lake due to the cold, A late flock of geese landed last night just before dark. The Temp dropped really fast last night. This morning when the geese took off they took the lake with them.
