How did I do? Born on date?

Today I got a S&W 27-2 6" nickle finish with card board box and papers and cleaning tools. The guy I got it from said he bought it new about 30 years ago and shot it 6 times and put it up. It has the TS, TH, and TT. He ask $700 and I ended up getting it for $550. I think I got a decent deal but just want some confirmation from the experts!

BTW, the serial number is N9407xx. Can somebody tell me when it was made? Thanks!

I paid $450.00 for the same thing - presentation box instead of cardboard - over 10 years ago on a '70's version. yes, I'd say you did well.

Thanks guys! That makes me feel better about my purchase. I wasn't looking for a model 27 but it is in such nice shape I just couldn't pass it up. Now, can anyone tell me when it was made?

Last year the book lists is 1983...SN ending at N932XXX for that year. So I'm guessin late 83 or 84.
