How do you store extra grips, magazines, spare parts, etc?

When it comes to storing my grips, magazines, spare parts, etc. it's an issue for me. I was thinking of going to construct a wood-like safe box, which will be divided into different sections. Storing them into different sections together in one big safe box.

I think this will also help me get organized with them.

Really Useful Boxes Inc - Welcome - Buy Online Now!

I use the 1.75 cu in ones. Easy to label... Cheaper if you buy from their website other than Office Depot or Amazon. They ship fast too.

I store magazines in these primarily.

I like Rubbermaid Action Packers for consolidation of small parts containers. The small parts containers can be purchased or recycled containers such as these 35mm film canisters, .22 cartridge boxes, smokeless tobacco containers. I guess cigar boxes deserve a honorable mention.

Most of my gun parts are on the guns. Spare grips from ones I've changed are in zip lock bags marked what gun they came from and are in an old cordless drill box. One drawer in my tool box has pistols & revolvers and ammo. More ammo and gun boxes in the large bottom desk drawer, and two tool bags I use when I go shooting have ammo, binoculars, and band aids and some misc. things that one might use at the range.

I have a gun room that looks like George Nonte crashed his Piper Cub into. Been sorting and, actually finding stuff I'd forgotten about. I'm throwing all the Fitz grip , mauser handguard, RG pistol barrel level stuff into a big box for fleabay as soon as I can figure out how to get the pics on. Was very happy with the one time I did list, but I seem to have lost whatever vestegial computor skills I had four years ago. I blame the Coof.

My storage bins and other containers seem to have grown over time, much like my pants.

If you're active in the hobby, it evolves. I've gone from zip lock bags to plastic things with drawers to Tupperware containers to now having those in the old wooden ammo crates like AK and AR rounds came it.

Now those are stacked in a closet or the "gun room".

Empty 200ml cans of Renaissance Wax are useful too...:)...Ben

I store all my ammo and gun "stuff" in .30 cal and .50 cal ammo cans. I also have a few larger ammo cans as well, I'm pretty OCD when it comes to organizing my work bench area and storing material in my shop.

I keep them pretty well organized and stacked in my basement shop and I use a surplus 1970's era stencil machine to make labels that I spray paint on the ammo cans. The ammo cans seal up tight and keep the humidity out.

Over the years I've p/u quite a selection of grips for Smith & Colt, all in a large plastic container. Grips & TGrips are stored in plastic bags, frame sizes seperated, inside the container. A close friend made me a desk for all my grips, tools & cleaning gear so I keep everything there in a spare bedroom close to the garage. Spray cleaners are used in the garage, the gun is wiped down and taken to the desk for the finishing touches.

I don't have many extra grips, so I just keep them in a wooden cigar box in my dehumidified safe, along with a few curios like my GrandDad's Panama Canal Employee fob and a 10 Reichspfennig coin from 1938.
