UNICEF is a UN organization that raises money for gun control. This is just one area where UNICEF feels they are protecting children.

Keep this in mind: Do not contribute to ANY UNICEF branch. Do not buy any UNICEF greeting cards. The UN and all of its related organizations are not friends of the way of life of Americans (or Canadians, and others).

Rwanda: Beginning on April 6, 1994, and for the next hundred days, up to 800,000 Tutsis were killed by Hutu militia using clubs and machetes, with as many as 10,000 killed each day. (The History Place - Genocide in the 20th Century)

10,000/day murdered without firearms. Where was the outcry? There was only a pitiful, ineffectual whimper from the UN.

Thanks for all of your comments.

I know we, as law abiding citizens and gun owners, do not want any part of this... but it still scares me. Most of the country doesn't want this BS health-care bill but our government is still jamming it down our throats as well as a crushing cap and trade program that would cripple our economy.

Couldn't they do the same thing with this?

It's not a case of "couldn't" IMHO?
The second term (God help us!) would likely be prime time for this. Especially with the current makeup of the house and senate. After all, who'd say stop to them with a filibuster proof majority?

They won't take the guns and ammo. What they learned from prohibition is that it's much more effective and profitable to the State to tax what people like, and tax it heavily.

They may "water" gun ownership down to certain calibers and quantities, and force you to buy it from approved State-owned stores (like hard liquor in some states), but they'll be sure to keep enough out there to get their pound of flesh.

I'm glad I live in Arizona because they would not be able to find anyone to enforce their agenda.

They're doing this in my state now, NJ. The politicians are doing everything they can to limit gun ownership and making it more ridiculous everyday.

In Florida, gun owners have achieved what one state legislator referred to as critical mass. There now are enough CCL holders in Florida and enough supporters of the right to self defense that both parties must take us into account when considering any bills.
We have big city liberals here also, but while they talk anti gun at home, they know that no one can be elected to state wide office the extra burden of a anti-gun history.
Each state needs a strong state organization pushing for legislation on the state level, and we all need to support our state organization.

I agree no treaty like this would or could be approved. Any treaty must still comply with the US Constitution. If the SOS were to ever sign such a document, she would be in violation of her oath and subject to removal from office

Excellent post!
Thank You!
You'd think an organization that seeks to run the world, would be able to get it's toilets to flush in their New York headquarters? Alas, the functioning of their own indoor plumbing is less important to them, than your private firearm ownership.
FOXNews.com - Crumbling U.N. Seeks $1 Billion for Renovation - U.S. & World

I think the UN is being very frugal wanting only $1 Billion for renovation. I think the UN needs a complete new building. And, I think they need to put the new building in a nicer location than New York City. New York City is crowded, cold in the winter, and hot and humid in the summer. I think the south of France would be a much better location for the UN, and France can pick up the tab. Maybe there should be a competition where all the countries can propose a new building design, and the UN can vote for which building and location they like the best. Anyone have a better idea?

I have always read and heard of every government that has turned the table on its populace, and it seems the words that were uttered almost every time were "it can't happen here." There are those in power who have played on the apathy of "it can't happen here" for centuries.
It can happen here, and if we are not too damned careful, it will.
Here is Obama speaking on that very same treaty that "can't happen here"
