How far would you drive for a super nice 27-2?

I live in East Texas and 70 miles is a routine trip to go shopping with my wife. I'd certainly drive that far to purchase a 27-2 if the price was right. Don't let little things stop you from doing what makes you happy. I'm going to drive 1300 miles one way in July just to go shoot with my best friend.

If it's a grail gun, I would. If it's just another gun, probably not...especially at $910 for a faily ubiquitous piece. FWIW, last Oct I snagged a minty 27-2 with original magnas (no box) at a small NorCal gun show for $550.

I just drove 320 miles roundtrip to get a lnib 4" 686-3, ya I'm crazy!!!!

I would drive 500 miles roundtrip for that 27-2 but I'm crazy!!!!..

Anyone care, a 27-2 blue 6 incher is at a pawn shop in N. Georgia about half hour or so outside the perimeter of Atlanta.

I have driven more than 70 miles one way to a Gun Shop that I use to buy guns from regularly and I also attended a gun show twice annually that was 150 miles away. If I wanted a pristine 27-2 6 inch with all the goodies I wouldn't blink of driving 140 miles round trip to buy it. In fact if it was a nice day weather wise I would ride my Motorcycle there to go get it.

I also live in the formerly great State of California.

My furthest drive was from S.F. to Bakersfield - twice.

Of course I ended up with a really nice 696ND, so it was well worth it!

Well....Made the first of three trips an got it! After all the coaxing I canceled a 9 a.m. appointment and got my wife to open up my shop while I drove out to be there when the LGS opened. Fortunately it was still there. Pulled it out again to look at it and it's NICE! 5" T/H, T/T and T/S. Only slight issue was a very small chip on the back rear of one of the stocks. The case interior is deep blue and is one of the best I've seen. I know we all like pictures, but it'll be a couple weeks until I can post some as the store policy is no photography There is however a 5" just like it on G/B right now that ends in 5 hours.

I was tempted to ask where the gun was and see if I could beat you to it, but I've already got 4 of them.

Well congratulations on making a GREAT decision! That's one beautiful 27-2 and i would've driven farther than 280 miles for one in that awesome condition .

Total travel was closer to 390 miles over 3 trips, dang I'm getting too old for this stuff!

If I'd of told Iggy were it was he'd, at least be tempted to, drive 2-3,000 miles round trip? I don't feel so bad now

For a 5" 27 in that condition....I would drive that much and more. I am still looking for my 27...I once drove 185 miles one way for a Pre-64 Winchester model 70 in .300H&H...
