In a previous thread i noted that i am returning mine to the factory for a third time (DTU series). I may have the option of a replacement gun or refund. I really like the gun but have a bad taste about them at the moment. How good are the newer ones. Anyone having problems???

New One

A friend of mine and myself bought one two weeks ago and haven't had a probem with either one. The new ones seem to be probem free, if you stay away from Remington ammunition.

what problems are you having with yours?

I bought mine about 3 weeks ago and it was fresh from the factory. I've taken it to the range twice, and have put several hundred rounds of CCI Blazer, and Federal bulk pack through it. Only 1 FTF from the CCI blazer and none from the Federal.

I wish I could say they are awesome.....but mines not in yet and it's been 4 weeks.......sigh

Only ammo related problems with me so far. 2,000 rounds in (yep, that's still pretty low)

I've had mine for not quite 2 months, a DVP serial prefix, seems to be the latest. No issues with mine at all with Federal bulk 550, had a couple FTF with some Winchester super X, but I've had trouble with my supply of Super X in every 22 gun I have, about 10 of them.

I've followed your issues with your 15-22 and can understand your frustration, IMO I think you would love the newest model out, you seemed really happy with your current model when it worked right. I can't imagine you getting two lemons in a row.

I bought a Sig 522 over the weekend for my son (the discounted OD green model), will shot it tonight. Break down between the two is about as easy, aesthetics is about the only difference I see in pre shot condition. One thing I will say is I like that the 15-22 has the full length rails, although the OD green 522 does come with 3 4" rails that mount to the side and bottom of the front gaurd. The 522 doesn't come with sights either.

I honestly can't remember the last time I had a malfunction with my DTX. After many thousands of rounds it just gets better and better. Shooting CCI Blazers and Mini-Mags, I would guess I've not had a failure-to-anything in the last few thousand rounds.

I have had mine for about a month now.Serial # DVP. I have put over four thousand rounds through it with only one FTF or FTE.Winchester Target bulk and Blazers for the most part.

same here with a dtz mine seems to be more reliable once everything is broken in with cci tactical and federal 550.

Got mine in January (2011) have over 10K rounds thru it no problems. DVAXXXX

Have a DTX.
Put 500 rounds through it Sunday using Federal American Eagle solid nose ~ 1240 fps. Not one problem. Also doing a lot of rapid fire.
Shoot's CCI Blazers, and Mini Mags, also with no problem.
There is something about the M&P15-22 and Remining Golden Bullet that don't jive. Leave it out of your picks.
Mine seems to like 40gr. at ~ 1200 fps., and will eat whatever up.
Hope you have better luck next time!!!
I am sure S&W will make it right with you.

I have had two FTF with my DVP. Thats it.
... That and its cost me alot of $$$ putting accessories on it

I had no malfunctions with mine (DUU) that weren't ammo related. Until I blew the extractor out of it last week. :(

Problem ammo with mine has been mainly Winchester bulk having FTEs. Federal runs pretty well. Remington Subsonic and all CCI but Blazer run flawlessly. (DUA prefix gun)

great gun my cousins never touched one before asked to try it. we were sittin on his bed on the second floor room and he hit a big bird with the big hole site from at least 65 70 ft. i bout **** my self. oneshot. it did take 4 to kill the bird though. we ate it.tasted like **** but he killed it so we ate it.

DVW3XXX here, bought about ten days ago. Only have about 200 rounds through it so far. Had one round (Federal American Eagle 38 gr. HVHP) fail to fire first time out. I had three good firing pin hits on the rim so I don't attribute it to the rifle. It's run like a champ since, seems a bit smoother now.

Put a Bushnell red dot on it, a sling setup, and will eventually put in a match grade trigger.

I really, really like it.

Update on the rifle. SHot 1230 rounds threw it no hiccups. Great gun. Shooting and moving and shooting froma moving vehicle. People say practice how u fight. I love the country. 40grn rn fed lightning.. i have the DVP 6**
