Just got home from the store. This heat is crazy! And it will get a few degrees hotter in a couple hours, I'm sure. Here's a couple pics. Round thermometer is on my front porch, under the overhang in the shade. Long thermometer is outside kitchen window, again in shade. A bit warmer in the back. :p The other pic is one I just took of my laptop screen, Weatherbug, showing the temp downtown, and a heat index of 121 with dew point of a ridiculous 76! No letup in sight either. I know y'all Arizonans are used to this, but the heat and humidity here is unbearable!

I know a lot of the country is in this heat, so once again, I want to remind everyone, be careful. I actually saw a guy jogging on my way to the store. I expected to see him lying along the road on my way back. Please, if you have elderly neighbors and/or relatives, check on them. And don't forget pets! If they have to be outside, make sure they have lots of fresh water at all times, and have a place to lay in the shade. Best thing is to bring them in.

Here north of Indy, it's 88 with 1 million% humidity! lol
They said we could hit 100 today. The heat index should be 105-110.

How Hot Is It?

It is SO HOT that I saw a coyote chasing a jackrabbit,
and they were both walking! :D

Duh-Ham! It's hot!

98°F
Feels Like: 111°

Southern Indiana..... is feeling southern.

74 degrees at 1:15 p.m. with overcast and a 30% chance of rain. Low tonight should be around 50. This is a tough place in winter, but you can't beat it in the summer!

We are at 104 the humidity is way up there. It is miserable. Normally, I do not mind the heat, but this is brutal.

It's 92 and humid here in NY...and I'm tired of this.... we've had over 2 weeks of this garbage this summer.
I went into the shed to look at my snowblower.

99 and 28% humidity. It's a dry heat, yea. Went out to whack some weeds after lunch. Thought I had been out over an hour, came in and saw that I was out for 35 mins. And here I am, cold lemonade, AC and the forum.

It's been in the 90s for more than 30 of the last 40 days I believe , with humidity to match. We had a day or two when it was over 100'. Riding my Harley to/from work was like standing in front of a torpedo heater.

It got that hot out here years ago.. All the corn in the fields popped to a depth of about 4 feet. Cows thought it was snow and froze to death.;)

81 degrees and sunny at 1:48PM,with very low humidity.Last winter we got 1 inch of snow.Nice!!!I live 61 miles north of the Ca.border.We'er gun friendly too.

Wow, your actually hotter(true temp) in TN then down here in sub tropical Florida. We stay at 95 degrees and about the same humidity. Index is 105 to 110. Of course it rains every afternoon and then it's a pleasant Sauna.

Misty,

It is hot enough to fry an egg on the sidewalk......just wait for your evening news, I am sure they will show you. :D

Here it is a balmy 85 degrees with a 31% humidity...gives us a heat index of a sweltering 82 degrees.

Makes me long for that winter 2 years ago when we had over 100 inches of snow. ;)
