I woke up this AM, went to put the dog out, and our deck and backyard was covered with this strange white stuff. It took me a while to search my memory as to what it was. There was about a half inch of the evil stuff. It had arrived in the early hours of the morning. It was snow. Now snow is a very rare thing in Bexar County. I live in a small suburban town to the NW of San Antonio, we are sort of in the Hill Country. There is a small mountain about maybe a half mile from our front door. If enough of the evil substance fell I guess it would make a good ski slope.
Thankfully, it is just after noon, the sun is out and the stuff is disappearing. My dog is happy. She does not approve of having to walk in this foreign substance.

Snow In Florida

The weatherman on channel 10 reported for the first time ever that blizzard conditions could form over the panhandle of Florida!!! It seems that snow with a 35mph wind sets the stage. It is really snowing as I write this thread.

As a Fla resident a few hundred miles south of you I'd love to see a picture if possible.
I was in high school in '77 around this date during the infamous snow in Miami. Looked like a bad case of dandruff.

In Centra l Ohio, we've had snow on the ground for 2 1/2 weeks, which is a little long for us. It melts some the snows some more.

Supposed to be below ZERO Tonight through much of tomorrow. This much Cold usually doesn't get here until a week or so after Groundhog's Day.

Out the front door of our townhouse in Houston (2 miles west of the Galleria) about 9:00 this morning...

Fraser,Co,which is a few miles from the Winter Park/Mary Jane ski area ,dropped to 40 something below zero last night. That was a ramshackle little railroad town back in the day and known for bitterly cold weather.

I'm in the panhandle. About 2 hours ago - maybe 4:30 Central - I was going to take the dog out for a walk and I looked out the window. Then I went up and looked out the front window. Just for reference, nobody on my street has white shingles. But you notice all the houses got white roofs.

No snow in Vegas, but the cold air came in. I'd like to give a shoutout to the idiot up the street who let his sprinklers run last night and left the gutters iced over.

Yeah. No snow here, either, but a couple of the banks ran their sprinklers last night and iced over two different intersections I travel through on my way to work. Idiots!

Same here. I didn't even have to get out my snow shovel. Yes, I kept it when I moved back to TX in 2001 and haven't worn it out yet.

Fraser and Gunnison used to compete for being the coldest spots in Colorado. I have frozen my a@% off in both of them.

So THAT'S where ours has snuck off to  I'm not far from the coast, 15 miles north of the 49th in the celebrated "Great White North" (eh!) and we haven't had any.

But IMHO just keep it.
