In the mid-90s when I first started buying guns the service size 9mm market was pretty much dominated by 4 guns. Sigs P226, Berettas 92FS, Glocks 17, and S&Ws 5906. When I purchased the Sig was out of my price range and I hadn't quite become ready to jump into polymer so the 92 and 5906 were it. I went with the 92 due to peer pressure and a few other factors but having shot all 4 the 5906 is just as good as them. If DAO is your game there is no 9mm DAO non-striker fired handgun that I've ever shot that comes anywhere in the ballpark of a 5946.
How is the 5900-series any lower quality a gun than the CZ75,P226, M9,GP35,etc?
