I have a 442 that has some endshake that I want S&W to check out. I have the shipping label, and I will send it to them on Friday. Anyone know how long it takes to get your gun back from S&W? Thanks.

Does Smith and Wesson notify you that they're sending your gun back or does it just show up at your door one day?

The last time I received a postcard saying my gun was heading back
but the gun beat the card here by about 3 hours........

I sent a gun back to S&W last Wednesday so I'm also currently on the
"waitin' to see how long it takes" list.......

I sent my 329PD back to have it's frame replaced. They had it back to me in 2-3 weeks. I can't see a simple endshake problem taking more than that.

Good luck.

8-9 days for me. Seemed pretty fast.

I've had guns sent to them just twice, and it was about two weeks each time.

I sent two guns back at the same time for new springs and tuning. They were gone for 5 weeks.
I was never notified when they were to be shipped back to me.
The FedEx guy just rang my doorbell with my surprise box.

I haven't got mine back yet. Sent it in 2-3 weeks back.

I just recieved a letter from S&W in today's mail with their time frame estimate.

The top of the letter lists a work order number, the gun's model & serial number then goes on to state.

"The item you have returned for repair has been received.

Most repairs are completed and the item returned within 2-3 weeks after receipt at the factory."

I got the same letter yesterday.

FedEx just knocked on my door with a package that I had to sign for.
My gun is back home & S&W's time estimate, quoted above, was right on the money.....:)

Mind me asking what you had to send back? hopefully not your 649-3!

Rest easy Ray, not the M649-3.......

It was my M632-1 (.327 Fed Mag) that I had tight extraction issues with.

The cylinder was replaced so the next non-windy day we get I'll see how things go.

Now I have to figure out what to do about all the spent .327 brass with bulged cases mixed in with all of my other spent brass, including .327 Fed Mag from 3 other guns. If I would have been smart and paying attention earlier I would have kept them in their own bucket.

Still waiting

I sent in a 627 PC on March 20th, as of today it is still "waiting for an estimate from the Performance Center."
The CS Rep told me, "they are a little backed up in that area."

They are running about 4 weeks right now according to a friend that works there.
