How many guns do you need to own before you are a certified gun nut?

At one time I figured I was well on my way to being the biggest gun nut in this county. Then I got to know a local chiropractor and discovered I was a hopeless piker with no hope of ever catching up with him.

One of his daughters told me that once while cleaning the garage they found 5 Mosin Nagants and an M1 Carbine that he could not remember buying.

To one ex-GF, I guess I'm a gun nut. She got real frosty when she heard I had taken her godson to the range. The youngster would like nothing better than to get his dad to go.

I don't think there is a number, rather it's when you can quote long passages from "Hatcher's Notebook" and "Small Arms of the World" verbatim and you know more about some firearms than the people who own them.

I say none. Some may be a gun nut but can't afford a gun. I just thought of a grand idea. On your 21st birthday the U.S. Government should issue everyone of their choice one firearm. Sweet! Everyone write their congressman.
