How many pemits do you have and which states ?

KS is a constitutional carry state. We still have concealed carry permits for our residents who travel. I have a LEOSA permit, good nationwide.

some duplicate states but when one stop honoring one still covered by another, gives 40 states and last 10 you would have a better chance winning powerball in getting a permit

MA, NH, CT, FL.

Len: CT NR license is no hassle.

The only time (currently) that I go to CT it is to go to Mohegan Sun for a concert. Since it is sovereign Indian Territory, the CT license isn't recognized and thus wouldn't do me any good. Therefore I have never bothered with it.

Non-resident Floridian. Reciprocity in all the reasonable States :).

Only NC , Good for 37 states . the rest just don't matter !

PA resident permit and nationwide under HR-218 LEOSA. (Yearly qualification with credentials issued by the County Sheriff.) Note that LEOSA is not a permit, rather, retired officers must meet the requirements of the law to carry. The issued card simply documents that you have met the requirements of the law.

SC, Utah is on order...

mainly so I can carry in Georgia.

I have IL and FL, but will probably drop the FL when it expires. The two states I visit frequently are CO and WA, and neither will recognize IL or FL. (The FL is recognized for "residents" of FL only in both CO and WA). Since my FL is a non-resident it is no good and neither state recognize IL. I'm good most everywhere else I go, but do visit CO and WA often. UT (non-resident) is no longer valid in CO either.

Oregon and Washington. Between the two, I can carry in about 22 or so states, but I'm really only concerned about Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Montana.

Iowa, Minnesota, Utah.
Fee in Iowa is nominal(approx $5). The land of 10,000 taxes is $100.

Live in VT so no resident permit required & I have a SC non-resident.

N.C only since it covers me in enough states. Anywhere it doesn't cover I'm not interested in going. I'm not interested in the LEOSA permit since it would cost me more to keep it current each year then my 5 year NC CHP. Plus I have no interest in going where it would cover me.

What's your cost associated with LEOSA?

The last time I checked into it the best I could find for the course here in N.C. was $50.00 plus there is an annual renewal fee of $25.00. I would have to qualify here in N.C. even though I worked in N.J. You also must qualify every year with the weapons you are going to carry. Take courses every year and you are limited to only carrying what guns you qualified with. A North Carolina CHP is only $90.00 and for 5 years, and I can carry anything I want. The renewal is only $75.00 with no qualification or classes and good again for 5 years. So it's just less of a hassle to just have the N.C. CHP and stay out of the states that don't honor it. The department I left is in N.J. so traveling up there doesn't make sense. Below are the N. C. requirements.

The retired officer must complete the current Commission‐mandated In‐Service Firearms Training & Qualification. Currently, the in‐service program requires four (4) hours of annual training on safety, marksmanship fundamentals and use of force, plus qualification on the firing range with duty weapons. An additional two (2) hours of training will be required on the North Carolina laws of self defense and use of force by private citizens, detention of persons by private persons, and assistance to law enforcement officers by private persons.
