How many time a week you eat Chinese food?

No thanks. I will eat Chinese food when I'm in China though. I remember a great dim sum restaurant on the top floor of Hong Kong's City Hall...very good (and authentic as well). The slop they peddle here in the US does not even remotely resemble real Chinese food.

I'm right there with the OP! I'd eat it nearly every day if I could. I love Moo Goo Gui Pan, Pepper Steak, General TSO'S Chicken, Sesame Chicken, Chinese Green Beans, Happy Family, ETC.

I know that Sushi and Sashimi are actually Japanese but I like all that stuff too.

I was unable to sleep one night and got up and started flippin' through the TV channels. Wound up watching an infomercial about an authentic hand hammered Chinese wok and all the utensils and stuff that goes with it. I called in my order about 5 minutes into the show. Dang near wore it out over the next 10 years. made my family sick and tired of Chinese food. :D

It's fun to cook if you have the time to do it right. There is some real science in that wok. Once I got good with it I hardly ate anything else for years.

Bok Choi is awesome! ;)

I like what is called Chinese food in this country, in most cases. I mean, what do I have to compare it to? Where am I going to get "real Chinese food"? Some of the "real" dishes mentioned are a little to exotic sounding for me, as I don't eat any kind of fish or crustaceans. I've been to a couple of buffets that were pretty decent, And a few that I will never return to. There's a restaurant around the corner from the house that's not bad, but not great. Some of the best food I ever had was at a fast food place called Sze Chuan Express, in Tulsa. The food was fresh & wasn't overfull of MSG. The service was fast & I never left the place hungry. If I had a place like that here, I'd be there at least three times a week. Nowadays, it's maybe once a week.

I think all the dishes mentioned were American Chinese MSG restaurants and not authentic. Most of the Authentic stuff is simple.

I LOVE sushi and if I could I'd eat sushimi at every meal

I use to draw distpatch duty at the local PD on Sundays. Every Sunday the local Chinese food restaurant owner would want to meet the dog catcher at the pound.

That dog catcher never put a dog to sleep in the 3 years I worked for that department.

Nah, I ain't too keen on Chinee food.

One of the main reasons I was born in America is so I could enjoy American food.

I am constantly amazed with our fascination of eating like a third world nation that is typically starving when we have the best food on earth right here.

And what's with the lime thing in Corona? Any beer so bad it needs a lime to drink isn't going to see any cooler room in my house.

You don't like pork or beef?

Cow, pig, goat, lamb, deer, bear, possum, squirrel, groundhog, boar, pheasant, chicken, duck, turkey, rabit, moose are all fine but dog somehow is nasty? It's meat!

Having said that, I like dogs and wouldn't go killing one but if someone served me a dish of meat and said it was dog I'd eat it then decide if I like it or not

Dog was the prize meat for the Plains Indians.
One of my buddies was attending a Thai AF cocktail party.
He was liking some jerky.
Then he asked 'what kind of jerky is this?'
The answer was Monkey. His throat kind of collapsed.
Orient rule is - if you like it, eat it. If you don't like it, don't eat it.
But don't ask what it is.

Amen to that! I do recall a story where the folks south of the border were adding a little "something extra" to the Corona due for US export.

As for various meat dishes, I've eaten a bunch of oddball critters around the world. Some tasted good, some not so much.

But US "Chinese" food is an American invention. Sorry.

My wife loves Chinese, but she usually goes with a friend from work at lunch since I don't particularly care for it. Once or twice a year I'll take her out for Chinese if we can go to a good buffet.

I love Chinese food. Heck, all Asian foods.
When I lived in,or near, cities that had real restaurants, I'd eat Asian at least once a week.
Unfortunately, where I live, there are only buffets and one Thai restaurant.
Buffets are disease factories, so they're out, and the Thai place is extremely average. I might eat there once every couple of months.

Agreed, and why do places put a lemon wedge in my water?

Well if you count dim sum, two or three times a month , dinner maybe once every two months.
