Adamson police supply just north of Denver is having their 1st annual Smith and Wesson days on aug 2nd and 3rd and they have the shield listed for $349. Says they have plenty on hand and only valid for those 2 days. If they sell out they will offer a raincheck but you must get the raincheck on one of those days. Trying to compete against Glock days.

I have been looking for one for the past month, calling and driving to stores (Academy and gun shops). Nothing. This afternoon, I go into the local sporting goods store and they tell me they are out of them. I was about to leave and started talking to a girl behind the counter and she told me they just got a 9mm Sheild in yesterday and it wasn't checked in yet. I took it home...OTD with a couple of boxes of ammo was just under $500. For $50 more than Academy's price, I was happy and didn't have to drive 1-2 hours to get it.

Just picked mine up today after long search from LGS....$415 out the door! Now to add more mags and shoot!!!

I stopped by Gander Mtn a few hours ago. The pistol area was packed. They had one MP Shield in .40 and the customer wanted a .9mm (it was for his wife). Price was 449.00. I then stopped by a local gun dealer......no Shields available. Since I just bought a MP 40 two weeks ago, I will wait a while until I get a .40 cal Shield. Definitely will be my next pistol. Possible 3rd would be a .380 Bodyguard (ankle-carry).
Local LGS has 'em stacked three deep and waist high behind the counter for $449, but they don't seem to be selling very quickly. Interesting to see if the price holds up at $449. I'll wait for the LEO dealer to get stocked to save $$.
My local gun shop had these for $379 back when they came out, had them in stock too. Was gonna buy one in .40 but when I went to the store today they had JACKED the price up to $439!!!!! WHAT A CROCK Don't need one so why would I let them screw me over like that. Did not put my name on the list and NO money down.

Who were the organizers?? Florida Gun Shows or Southern Classic?
I live in Orlando and FGS is coming here in two weeks. I'm wondering if I should wait or just pick one up at my LGS for 449 + tax. Thoughts?
From a Police Supply Store in Phila I got a 9mm. It was marked at 319.95 but they charged a $25.00 background check fee. I got an extra mag for $31.95. Shouldn't have paid that for the mag but I wanted an extra.
I was out the door at $405.05 for the gun w two mags, the extra mag, the fee and tax of $28.15.
I did shoot it and like it a lot.

$389 out the door. No sales tax because I prepaid during the annual MA tax free weekend.

I paid $419 plus tax and then 10 dollars for the BGC (background check) for a grand total of $457.75 back in May, and was on the waiting list ever since they were first announced, but I wanted a 40 caliber so it took a little longer.
Who cares if you got one for $399 you would still pay tax of $36.90 at least here in Tennessee and then $10 for the background check! So you are still paying $445.90 to walk away with the gun. I am happy and my Shield 40 does not drop magazines.
My problem is getting extra magazines for it, I am beginning to believe that it is gonna be a long wait!

$425 + tax here in Ohio. $453.69 total. All I need now are two extra mags. Just trying to figure out if I get two 7 rd mags or two 8 rd mags or one of each. What say you all?

I say at least two more of each especially if you are a competitive shooter like the IDPA or others. I can not use the Shield in IDPA because it is a 40 and has only a 7 or a 6 round cap so I use my full size 40 for that!
