How much did you pay for your M&P Shield?

First post. Long time shooter & big PPS fan. Couldn't get past the fact that I have no small .40 in my inventory. Used that as rationalization to pick up the first .40 Shield I've seen for $469 @ LGS.

I've been looking for a month with no success, so I jumped on one today for $459. Wish I could have gotten it for less but I'm glad to finally have one.

I couldn't find any in central Texas where I live, but got lucky during a recent trip to Houston. Paid $449 plus tax. I prefer buying in person so I can inspect the firearm before buying it (no scratches, mars, missing parts, obvious defects, etc).

Got mine for $420 plus tax = $448. Sounds like a lot of folks are getting some really good prices. In the Charlotte NC area, nearly every store is selling them at MSRP with one store in the area selling them for $499 plus tax. Refused to pay (gouged) more than retail.

All of the stores around here are selling them as soon as they hit the shelf...

389+tx for my 40. I've wanted a large hand gun for a while so I bought this 629 also.

I'm new to this forum but I found a 40cal shield today for $399 + 20 sales tax in Eastern Wyoming. Now if I can just get to the range.

535 out the door. Didnt relize my
Gun shop is a bunch of money hungry thieves. Dont care love the gun

My LGS is hunting for one for me. He says,"if there is one out there I will get it". What that means to me is....it's going to cost me out the butt..LOL. This is a very small shop so it isn't very competitive. I figure I'll pay MSRP.

What Did I pay?

$419 + $33 tax $452 OTD

Shield 40S&W
At St. Louis gun show today. Looked at a couple of guns on display and asked if he had any Shields. He said yes, I got 2 in yesterday. A 9 and a 40. They are not display because we didn't have room. I looked at the 40 at $419, this is what I came for, I'll buy it.:)

I paid what seems to be the going rate at "fair" LGS. $399 + tax. If I had paid full MSRP at $449 it really is not that big of a deal. It just feels a little better to get something off the list price if you think someone else is getting a better price than you did. The "whatever" price you paid melts into a smile after your first trip to the range. Enjoy your gun, screw the possible $50 you could have saved if you waited a year. Have a couple less beers at a bar and everything will even out very fast.
