How much did you pay for your M&P Shield?

Is it OK to add a question? Has anyone bought the model with green Crimsontrace laser? Suggested retail is $589. Are these selling at any kind of discount? So far, I can't find one at any price locally (Houston).

Try the gun shows, from Pasadena to Houston to Conroe.

I bought (after negotiation) a brand new in-the-box Shield 40 CT green for $469 at the Pasadena Gun Show in late Aug 2015. Be patient. If you're not in a hurry you are more likely to get the price you want to pay.

Thanks, JMichaelTX. Indeed, I'm in no hurry. I have neither a pocket gun, nor a laser gun, so this will fill two gaps, neither of which are emergencies...at least as long as I get it before another Democrat gets into the Whitehouse (at which point, we'll likely see the run up in prices like we saw after the last "presidential" election.)

I have not been a gunshow guy, but I appreciate that info. At least I have a guideline to look for in pricing. $469 sounds pretty good to me, especially if you look at the cost of buying the gun and laser separately. I'm on the email lists for Gander Mtn, Academy, and Carters. Only "sale" I've seen so far was Gander for the Shield for $375. Not so great. I can wait. I have an acquaintance who is an FFL who also teaches CHL classes. He disdains the thumb safety, while I insist on it, or I'd ask him to order me one, just to keep the profit in the neighborhood. He'd do better if he could just remember "the customer is always right." :-)

The gun show I bought my Shield at was the first one I had attended.
If you've done your due diligence before you go, there is no reason not to buy if the price is right. There are both used, and new (in the box) guns which, of course, come with full manufacturer's warranty.

While I was there I found 3 vendors offering the exact Shield (.40 cal with green CT laser) I wanted. I used the price of the lowest to negotiate with the one I liked the best.

Re: green CT laser equipped one.

I think Bud's has them for $468, cash discount, probably free shipping I think. Save on Sales tax too. You can also send in an offer ($460 might work).

I don't see any Shield 9mm or .40 with CT green laser for this price.
Do you have an link for the specific item for this price that includes free shipping?

9mm with CT
S&W M&P40SHIELD 10147 40S 4.25 GRN CT $463.00 SHIPS FREE

.40 with CT
S&W M&P9SHIELD 10141 9MM 4.25 GRN CT $463.00 SHIPS FREE

Look like it's down to $463 at the cash price. Buds doesn't charge for shipping on pistols (you can check their shipping page.) Maybe you have to send a money order for that cash price, dunno. It may be possible to make an offer below that price, but I can't figure if they take your offer to be cash or credit, because they wouldn't take an offer of $463 if it were credit I'm pretty sure. Weird thing is you have to offer online I believe, not over the phone, so it's not perfectly clear. Maybe call tomorrow and ask. Report back how it went, because I was eyeing that price myself. Good luck.

I just paid $350 to my FFL for a shield with the Kryptek camo from Grab a Gun. Love that there is no sales tax. Used code FBFreeShiping for free shipping. It says the code doesn't work but the $5.99 comes off the total price anyways

I purchased mine mail order last month for $340. No tax and free shipping. Had to pay local FFL a $25 transfer fee plus $10 for the background check. I was out the door at $370.

$399.00 + tax best I could find locally in Minneapolis. Gander Mountian has for $399.00 as well

This thread never ceases to amaze me. Over 1000 people actually "care" what a new Shield costs! Wow! I guess this post will bump it to the top. . .again!

It just speaks to how popular the Shield is.

Outside of on-duty LE, I'm guessing it is one of the top selling carry guns. There's no real competition from Glock. The popular Glock 19 is really big to carry, and most that compare the Glock 43 with the Shield prefer the shield.

I was sold on it the moment I picked it up in a firing grip. It just felt so great -- almost like an extension of my hand.
