I have no interest in freshwater fish, just never got into them. Had one siamese fighting fish once, and the cat ate him. I really like cats, though....weird, huh?.....

This is a Smith & Wesson forum.
How did Sesame Street get dragged into it? :D

Come on guys, didn't you hear, Barbara Streisand is performing at the Oscars! OK, seriously, she now looks like Yoda from Star Wars...

I have a bit of a problem with all the self-aggrandizement of these multimillionaires.

I enjoy good movies, but the whole escalation of the status, and political voice of actors is bothersome. People are suffering in this country, and most of these over-paid actors (not all) walk around completely insulated from economic and cultural realities, while spewing their well-known political diatribe. Without pretending to be something they are not, they would still be waiters/waitresses, making minimum wage. Yet, they are given 'influence,' and voice far above their true worth...

Some things have been turned around backwards in this country. It used to be that the real people in this country looked up to real-world heros, people that actually sacrificed and achieved worthy accomplishments. Now, we are trained to worship actors, people pretending to achieve worthy accomplishments. Sad.

Only watch Oscars if they are sizziling on the grill.

Anything else is an Oscar winning whiner.

I could care less, but that would take too much effort.

While I voted 'No Interest,' I kinda have to rethink my spontaneous answer. My wife loves all the Award shows, the dresses, the suspense, etc. etc. In retrospect, I find that I actually look forward to the Award shows. Whether its the Oscars, Golden Globes, or Emmy's, in each and every case I get 3-plus uninterrupted hours of basement man/gun cave time. Last night I reloaded hundreds of 9MM's for my new S&W 1911 9mm Pro Series and my faithful Browning HP. Just me, the boys and some old friends enjoying some quality time together.....so should I change my vote?

I checked "slight interest", which means around here that since giving up the overpriced Dish Network plan, the Oscars was about the best thing left on TV last night, faint praise indeed, and not enough to keep me up past the first exceedingly dull 45 minutes.

That said, I was a little sorry to have missed Jennifer Lawrence, for whom I harbor a mild rooting interest, not because of the movie she won for, which I have not seen, but for Winter's Bone, a pretty good movie based on one of the best books I have read.

Then too, if it were Jennifer Lawrence in Danica Patrick's place I might even have tuned in the Daytona 500.

Since there was no "less than zero" I had to go up a step. All I have to say is "Thank God for DVR's!

Holy Cow! If disdain was money, we could pay off the national debt on this thread alone.

Guys, take a deep breath. The Oscars (or Oscarblots, as I think of them, because academy legal will get after you if you don't put the little R in a circle after the word) aren't even important enough to complain about! I can tolerate the show, but I turn it on only after I am done with the important chores like changing the air in my tires.
