Put it this way. Next time I move

mad

there will be several pickup truck loads of nothing but loaded ammo and at least one truck load of loading components. As evidence of ammo hoarding, this evening I was cleaning out some shelf space and consolidating some ammo and found a box of Federal Hydra-Shok 357 Mag 130 grain. Printed on the box by Federal is "NEW". My guess is that box is at least 20 years old. A Fair guess as to the number of loaded long gun cartridges I have on hand would be somewhere in the neighborhood of 15 - 20K, not including 22 S, L, LR, WRF and WMR. Most of the rifle ammo I have on hand is milsurp. I have 8 cans (400/can) of 1966/67 M2 (30-06), 2 cans (400/can) 1961/62 M72 (30-06 Match), 2+ cans (1920/can) of FN 1952 M2, 2+ cases (1040/case) of 7.62 x 39, 10 battle packs (200/BP) of German 7.62 x 51, 300+ boxes of Fed Gold Medal Match .308 168 gr. (Wal Mart was closing a store and had it priced at #1.97 ber box of 20.

). As far as shotgun hunting ammo goes there are full cases of 10 (x2), 12 (x8), 20 (x4), 28 (x1) and .410 (x1,-1 box). For shotgun HD ammo I have a bulk pack ammo can with 250 rounds of Winchester Low Recoil 12 ga 2-3/4" 00 Buck on hand. For handgun ammo I would guess that I have on hand a total of 4-5K spread out over 7.62 x 25 Tok, 9 x 18 Mak, 9 x 19, 32 ACP, 380 ACP, 38 Spcl, 357 Mag, 357 Sig, 40 S&W, 44 Spcl, 44 Mag, 45 ACP and 10 mm. Also have enough powder, bullets and primers to reload all handgun ammo at least twice with the exception of the 9 x 18 Mak and 7.62 x 25 Tok. The Mak and Tok milsurp is so cheap I can't reload any cheaper than buying milsurp in bulk.
You can never have too much, only too much to move in one truck load.
