If we're talking about just the gun in excellent condition with S&W wood grips I believe you would be looking at $550 to $600 plus tax in one of our local gunshops.

Does it have the box and paperwork??? What kind of condition is it in?? 85%? 95%??? Depending on the condition of the gun I would say $450-550 would be fair depending on the condition.

No box or papers. I bought one before for $449 and it was in great condition! This one is in good condition. 90%......What do you guys think?

Here's the part where everybody tells you they just bought one for $350 and you shouldn't pay a dime more. $500 is a good price but if you have to cough up a few more dollars you will soon forget about. Look at what you'll be paying for ammo, $50 doesn't get you far.

$500 is a good price for a 586. Around here, they are more rare than 686, which are not plentiful in their own right, so they command a little.

$350-400 is really not realistic these days. If you can find one, gobble it up. I can get a 581 from a pawn shop near me, I have been watching it for over a month, they want $485, and I have been trying to get it for less. Just because I know this specific shop has no idea of the worth and no one buys revolvers from there. It's more of the "plastic gun" type of shop.

I just bought one for $345, but the finish was not great, storage issues. One of my best shooters, though-smooth and accurate.

I just picked up a late model 586-8 at a gunshow for 450. No box or papers, but appears to be unfired. It was the only 586 at the show.

So far good advise, around here it would be around $500 to $550 with no box. I got lucky last year in a plastic fantastic shop were they did not like revolvers and picked up a no dash in six inch for $350.00 that is a very accurate shooter.

I got a 4" 586 no dash a few weeks ago. ( 6-83) I traded a 65-3 for it and minor cash. I really like it, and it had less than 50 rounds through it. Great shooter! I put it right up there with my 28 no dash. You will enjoy having 1. Bob

In my area it would probably have an asking TAG price of $550 to $600 in my local shop. Gun Show prices would be higher.
