Old enough to have learned much from lots of mistakes.

I've reached the age where I think a lot about the here after.
I walk into a room and then think. What am I here after?

Sometimes I don't get that far, I get up and start to another room and think what was I going for?

And most important.

"You're only as old as the woman you feel"

Where did you find my picture?

To some I'm a wet behind the ears punk and others seem to think I have one foot in the grave. 63 And to celebrate being alive I rode my first bicycle century on my birthday last year. Solo. 102.5 miles with 3,149 ft elevation gain which isn't much considering the distance.
My farthest bike ride was 110 miles. That was only because I was too lazy to load my bike on my car and rode 40 miles to the trail head to meet up for a 70 mile bike tour.

I'm 68 plus five months, my right knee and hip are 75 and my left arm is almost useless. Heart is good for now, Dr. "Z" at Sterns Heart Clinic installed a stent in right side of my heart this past November and it has been keeping pretty good time.

82 the 15th. of this month. And with all of the US Navy members of this Forum, I often wonder if they have ever seen a wooden hull mine sweeper, much less ever served in one.

My dad served aboard the YMS 55 in the Med. We went up to the Philly Nary Yard in the late '60s and he pointed out one to us.

I think this was posted not here but on the 'other forum' a number of years ago, if I recall correctly.

In any event, I will be 36 next week. I started collecting when I was legally able to at 21. Been interested in revolvers since I was probably around 8 years old--think old cowboys and western films. Nowadays, they'd probably think a kid nuts if he or she had interest in such things.

Dad watched a lot of John Wayne, Clint Eastwood and the like (much to my mothers disinterest :) ) and my uncles and extended family all hunted and had firearms for a specific purpose. That is, different types of hunting and for leisure, shooting at targets at the gun clubs.

We made several trips when I was a young boy out west, some of my best memories are from this time period and staying in our national parks. In boy scouts, we had a superb range master, think he was in during Vietnam if I recall correctly, and just good mentors and leaders. Good people.

I will try not to drift any further, but will say, even thought I am relatively young, it is interesting how I cannot relate to folks slightly younger than me, with few exception. I am a professional and a majority in my demographic have a different outlook than I do. Work hard and you can do well for you and your family is what I believe. Best, TH

Old enough to be one of the U S Navy's last Torpedoman's Mates!

Man, I've been out of touch. I didn't even know TM's had been absorbed into MM's, and I was an MM! I'm old enough that I served my whole enlistment on a steamship and when I was stationed at Pearl, we had an Aggressive class wood hulled minesweeper based there, but I don't remember the hull number or name.

I guess the BT's have gone the way of the Sailmakers and Ships Carpenters too. Sad...but inevitable.

Age!!!...

I think it's a valid question. Don't answer if you don't want to, but I think it's interesting to know the demographics of the folks who appreciate Smiths.

I am 67, and still going on, "steady as the ship goes"!!!, till God allows!!!..
Best Regards
Roberto Renauld
