I've posted about this revolver before and never asked for a birth estimate. The friend I got it from says he thinks he bought it in the mid-eighties, but it's pinned. Any help much appreciated.

14-4 was produced starting in 1977 and the pinned barrel was discontinued in 1982. The Model 14 was discontinued until 1991.The 14-5 with full lug started in 1991.

Give us the serial number from the bottom of the butt with any alpha letter and we can give you the date of birth. You can put XX in the last two places of the numbers and we can give yo the date.

Guess I should proof read a lot better. I had my gun ledger out and right in front of me when I was posting. Specifically to include the serial number. Must have needed a nap. Anyhow, the serial number is 85K83##.

Cooperduper, 85k would have a born on date of 1980. The M 14 is a great shooter...enjoy!!
